A big thank you to the Gilbert Public Schools board members who made a courageous and expeditious decision to resolve the biology textbook problem. I commend them for discerning judgement! Biology, as Mr. Colvin said, is about life, not death of the unborn, or preventing life. It is about the miracle of life. The textbooks should pertain to the study of life only — not sex education — end of story, end of debate. It is time to stop the culture of moral free-fall. The law, life and morality do matter.
Is this a tipping point for one of Arizona’s top-performing school districts? Has Gilbert Public Schools, justifiably proud of its many achievements and recognized for its students’ learning, come to a time when all of its successes might be negated by the behavior of just a few people?
New Mesa Mayor Alex Finter has clearly indicated his desire to shut down Falcon Field and throw thousands of people out of work with his creation of a special commission to oversee Falcon Field. Of the six people appointed to the commission one is the leader of the neighborhood effort to close Falcon, two are developers, one finances developers, and four of the six are not even pilots and have no association with general aviation at all. Only one pilot from Falcon Field was appointed to this new commission.
