Citrus in the Groves posted at 7:16 pm on Fri, Jan 21, 2011.
I am so happy that the wonderful senior volunteers are in the spotlight for their hard work and dedication each year to picking citurs in The Groves. GCUMC provides almost 40 pickers on Friday's to help with gleaning excess fruit from our subdivison and putting it in boxes to be collected by United Food Bank of Mesa. It is a win/win for all of us. The residents of The Groves are able to provide the excess fruit, the volunteers seem to love their work and UFB and area needy recepients reep the rewards. Terry Parsons leads this wonderful group and continues to amaze me with his ability to round up the troops to pick fruit Jan/Feb/Mar each year. A big THANK YOU to all of you.
Bev...citurs coordinator The Groves.
