Majel Barrett portrayed Nurse Christine Chapel in the original "Star Trek" television series from 1966-69. The character harbored an unrequited love for the Vulcan science officer Mr. Spock, portrayed by Leonard Nimoy. Barrett, who would marry "Star Trek" creator Gene Roddenberry after the show's cancellation, also provided the voice of the ship's computer. (Roddenberry.com)
