Gold award (business scored in the top 25 pecent)
Silver award (business scored in the middle 50 percent)
No award (business scored in the bottom 20 pecent)
MV = Major Violation
RMV = Repeat Major Violation
Score = Indicates how the business scores against other similar type establishments. The lower the score, the better. For most permit types, a Gold award will have a score of 0-3. Silver awards generally range no higher than a score of 30. Establishments that receive no award have the highest score rating.
Purpose = Reason for inspection
It is not mandatory that inspection certificates be posted at the establishment.
Training inspections are full inspections of an establishment conducted with the intent to educate the operator and analyze the food safety aspects of the establishment. The emphasis of these inspections is more on training than enforcement.
A Major Violation is one that is more than likely to present a significant health hazard that could cause contamination or a food-borne illness.
Major violations are to be corrected immediately, or the operator is scheduled for a re-inspection.
