Tawney, a 2-year-old fox terrier-Chihuahua mix, may well be the happiest dog on Earth. Consider the following facts: She loves people and greets them with endless kisses, wiggles like a worm when you pet her, enjoys lap-warming, and basically loves to snuggle her favorite people.

According to the folks at AZ RESCUE, Tawney also has a lot of energy, keeping a pace to rival Speedy Gonzalez. She’s always on the run and enjoys playing with balls and squeaky toys, but her favorite toys are stuffed animals. She has “killed” her toy chicken several times and finds great joy in retrieving small teddy bears.

Tawney walks well and rides in a car well also. She will do well in a family that is highly active and willing to include her in all family activities.

For more information on Tawney, or other deserving animals, call Reducing Animal Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education at (480) 598-9410 or visit www.azrescue.org. The cost of adoption is $125 for cats and $150 for dogs, which includes spaying and neutering and some inoculations.
