Life hasn't been kind to Charles, a 3-year-old cocker spaniel. When the folks at AZ RESCUE saved him from the euthanasia list, Charles' ears were so matted with hair, sticks and twigs that they weighed nearly a pound each. He had a skin infection, an eye infection, and was so skinny. You wouldn't know any of that, though, by looking at Charles today. A healthy and very happy-go-lucky dog, he loves to be around people, to be cuddled, and to play.
Charles loves to follow his people around the house and to hang out with his canine buddies. He also enjoys his walks outdoors, and afterward is content to snooze the hours away in a comfy dog bed. His one vice: Charles is a hoarder - of plush toys, that is. He surrounds himself with them and plays with each one.
Charles needs a home where he can go on daily walks, play with lots of toys, and enjoy tons of cuddle time. Oh, and he'd also like to have lots of good food, treats and rawhide bones because he loves to eat.
For more information on Charles, or other deserving animals, call Reducing Animal Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education at (480) 598-9410 or visit www.azrescue.org. The cost of adoption is $125 for cats and $150 for dogs, which includes spaying and neutering and some inoculations.
