Before your holiday calendar gets full, be sure to mark down the fourth annual Holiday Nights of Lights event 6-9 p.m. Dec. 9 on the Gilbert Civic Center grounds, 50 E. Civic Center Drive.

The free event includes performances by the Mwamba Children's Choir from Uganda, local dance studios, martial arts groups and high school choirs. Children can enjoy "reindeer" rides, carriage rides and a visit from Santa. The town will light up three large pine trees, as well as other decorative scenes for the holidays.

The display will remain through Jan. 3.

Gilbert's Holiday Nights of Lights is presented by Mercy Gilbert Medical Center, sponsored by IKEA, JEL and SRP, and produced by the Gilbert Community Services Department. If you would like more information about this event, call (480) 503-6200 or visit gilbertaz.gov.
