“To the venter who thinks Linda Turley-Hansen’s Sunday commentary was ‘such hate and vitriol’: What a pity you can’t recognize truth when you see it. She is factual and accurate in all she writes. Take off your ‘liberal glasses’ for once.”

“I’m glad Mitt came out of the closet and exposed Obama’s gift program. However, Mitt offered gifts to only 1 or 2 percent. You don’t need an etch a sketch to do the math on that one. I have to confess my gift will come after the first of the year when I hear Rush Limbaugh squeal when his taxes go up.”

“So John McCain thinks Susan Rice is not qualified to become secretary of state. This coming from the guy who supported Condoleezza Rice traveling the world warning of Iraq’s many hidden weapons of mass destruction? Worse yet, isn’t this the same guy who brought us the infamous gal who could see Alaska from her front porch, his dear running mate, Sarah Palin? John, it’s time to hang ’em up.”

“Why so much concern about Petraeus and his affair? Nothing will come of it. We got Bill Clinton, who did the same if not worse and us taxpayers get to pay his pension every month.”

“Doesn’t Mesa look all shiny and new again now that most of the ugly campaign signs have come down? Now if the city would just enforce its ordinances with respect to all the A-frame, banner and feather flag signs that businesses use illegally.”

“Pennsylvania’s high school hockey league just banned the playing of the National Anthem before games. The League said that spending the five minutes’ time to honor our flag was too costly. No wonder Obama won the Pennsylvania vote. Obama has no respect for the flag either.”

“I want to thank the Border Patrol for making it possible and safe for us to hunt on the Mexican border. Your dedication and hard work is very appreciated. The professionalism and the courtesy you extended to me and my buddies is appreciated.”

The CEOs of more than 80 major companies, including General Electric, Microsoft, and Verizon sent Congress an open letter urging immediate action on the $16 trillion national debt, which they rightly called " a serious threat to the echonomic-well being and the security of the Unites States." The corporate chieftains actually put their "reputation on the line" by endorsing a nonpartisan combination of spending cuts and tax reforms that would set the country on a more sensible path. These 1 percenters say they want to fix America's debt, but they're certainly not advocating that Congress raise their taxes. No, they want taxes raised on everyone else, and they're pushing for cuts to programs they don't need, like medicare and social security. Their hypocrisy is galling. And everyone knows these companies maintain an "army of lobbyist" to fight tooth and nail for beneficial loopholes that save them "hundreds of millions, if not billions, of dollars each year in taxes. Until these executives put their money where their mouth is," Consider this letter little more than a empty gimmick. REUTERS.com Market Watch.com

Apple paid a corporate tax rate of just 1.9% on its earnings outside the U.S. in the last fiscal year, according to U.S. regulatory filings. The electronic giant paid $713 million on foreign profits of $36.87 billion in the year ending Sept. 29.

Vent #1: You are right, Linda's words were true. The liberal/progressives just can't handle the truth.

Vent #2: Again the liberal/progressives can't handle the truth. The truth is that everyone's taxes are going up as Obamacare takes effect. We can all squeal, even Rush.

Vent #3: Obama's gang of thugs lied and now Susan Rice and the CIA will take the fall for the deaths of our people. I hope John McCain keeps up the attention on the failings and corruption of Obama and his ilk.

Vent #4: Nobody cares about morals except when it comes to elected republicans. Then the liberal/progressive MSM goes crazy.

Vent #5: Mesa will never look shinny and new again LOL

Vent #6: Everything is coming down to the money.

Vent #7: Hunting along the border? That is as smart as swimming in shark infested waters. Lucky you weren't shot by the drug smugglers, then we all would have to pay for your medical care.

Truth - You are aware how much GE paid in taxes last year, aren't you? I find it laughable a company with an army of lawyers hired to help them avoid paying taxes feel that taxes need to be raised.

Venter#1--You and Linda are borderline dittoheads, and your views are about as accurate (and relevant) as your mentor, Rushy!

Venter#2--Rush doesn't pay taxes, he has a huge medical deduction...he squeals remain constant (refer to the song, "Piggies")

Venter#3--Yeah, McCain has turned into a parody of himself...no SNL impersonation required...

Venter#4--Who should care, except those involved? More diversions, for us all.

Venter#5--I would venture to say that most all of the valley looks better without the signs, of which all are not gone, yet, btw.

Venter#6--Couldn't care less about Pennsylvania, hockey, or National Anthem at a high school hockey game. As for flags, and Obama--please, smack yourself upside the head, whenever you revisit that Fox talking point, from four years ago! It needs a reset!

Venter#7--Sounds like you had a good time, getting some game. The Border patrol would thank you, for the kudos, but maybe they're busy, you know, patrolling, and not reading Vents? Sending them a card might be nice (with a check for charity inside). The rest of us are thrilled that you had a good time though...really...

Truth - The 7% tax rate GE paid in 2010 was a GLOBAL tax rate. GE refuses to say how much it actually paid to the US federal government. And even if the 7.5% was entirely paid to the US government, that's well below the 35% corporate tax rate we currently have.
