“Thank you, thank you, thank you! What a wonderful day this is going to be! My comics are back.”

“I considered suing the Trib for emotional distress. But I think your second page (of comics Tuesday) might have a positive, curative effect, maybe in time so I can get to work and don’t have to stay home and pout.”

“Have you found out which evil villain is responsible for stealing our comics (Monday)? Have you called Spiderman or Superman?”

“I was out of town Monday and didn’t get a chance to read the paper. Couldn’t figure out what everyone was moaning and groaning about in the Vent (Tuesday) for the comics. I thought it was great. Do it again.”

“Why so quiet, Ohio State Buckeye fans? The Gator got your tongue?”

“Wait, hold it. Monday night’s game doesn’t count. Ohio State just realized they sent the girl’s badminton team by mistake.”

“Why did we pay for a retractable dome at the Cardinals stadium when they never open the thing up?”

“This is a sad paper when the (top) headline is from a football game instead of the State of the State from our governor.”

“I sincerely believe supplying health insurance to families (making) under $20,000 is necessary. But $20,000 to $60,000? Get real. I live on $12,000 a year and pay my own health insurance.”

“PBS may have earned a new subscriber just because of the hilarious way they listed Janet Napolitano’s speech (Monday) on Channel 8. It’s listed as “Funny Women” and I think it’s right. Except it’s funny not in a humorous way.”

“I’m watching these illegal students march out to the stadium in Glendale (Monday). Why should we let them go to college free when our own people have to suffer?”

“We’re from out of state and U.S. citizens. If we march, can our children get in-state tuition?”

“Illegal students, please go back to your own country. Let them pay for something. This country has picked up the tab for you guys long enough.”

“Oh, please, please, Jarrett Maupin, please keep playing up your absurd antics behind the ever-present race card in your desperate bid for attention and credibility as civil rights leader and unifier. It has been so long since Arizona has had such entertaining foot-in-mouth behavior.”

“I hope that when the Chandler Chamber of Commerce holds their ‘Wake Up, Chandler’ at the cemetery, that they don’t find any people waking up and coming out of the ground.”

“To the venter who tells people to take down Christmas decorations, what’s the urgency? Has he ever heard of Epiphany? That has just been celebrated in Christian churches this past Sunday.”

“Kids always impersonate their parents despite every effort to teach them good manners.”

TALKING POINT

“The governor has to quit hiding on the illegal immigrant problem. It is not the federal government’s problem. It is our state that has the problem. Do something, Janet.”
