“The Salt River Project announced it will release water from the dams into the Salt River. I fear I have to assume the huge 'ice floe’ in Roosevelt Lake is melting, bringing with it 'global warming’ to the Phoenix area.”

“If the Mesa Police Association really wants their officers paid for 'donning and doffing’ their uniforms, then they should prove to us they deserve it. I’m guessing there’s lots of patrolling and roadside radar, but few citations. I’m sure the city could use the extra revenue considering the budget crisis.”

“To the venter complaining about the Mesa Police Department. I, on the other hand, have been impressed with them. My first call to them was about a barking dog. They showed up at my house and within two days the dog was not longer barking all night. It still lives next door.”

“In Arizona, the Republicans will once more prove that big government does not work. Big government can succeed only if those run it believe it will work. By slashing the budget instead of raising taxes upon the chief beneficiaries of the Bush years, the Republican Legislature is about to turn the whole state into another New Orleans.”

“I think Kurt Warner should stay on the (Arizona) Cardinals and try to win another Super Bowl ring.”

“One might think that since we have so many speed cameras patrolling our streets and highways that the burden of our police would be a little less where they could devote some of that extra time in protecting our children by patrolling the school zones. No, that won’t happen. Better we install cameras in school zones.”

“It’s obvious that Saturday’s venter, who said that Mesa should not give a church a break on a sewer connection, has never read the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.”

“'It’s a Deal’ is the headline in Saturday’s paper? This nightmare Pelosi spending bill disguised as stimulus that will probably make the economy worse and is being forced on us in a hurry and that’s what you say? This paper’s liberal bias is sickening at best.”

“Congress must remember that if they pass the big, fat, stupid bailout package it will affect all their relatives and their relatives, etc. People in our tax bracket have about had enough of this type (of) thing and are tired and weary of always getting it in the neck.”

“Is it possible for Barack Obama to open his mouth without bashing Bush?”

“It took less than two weeks for Obama’s version of change to show it’s true colors. Partisan politics all over again. Partisan politics is what the people were trying to vote out.”

“We warned you people for over a year that this guy would be the biggest disaster ever to hit America in its 200 year history, but you wouldn’t listen.”

“I’ve been watching U.S. presidents answer questions from the press back since the days John Kennedy. I even remember a little of Dwight Eisenhower speaking on television. I hope not all of Obama’s meetings with the press will be as boring as (Monday) night. He’s the only president I’ve ever seen that answers all his questions with a full-blown speech.”
