“It’s no shock that recent international test scores for U.S students were horrible. Of course, China took first place in all categories. My daughter attends a Gilbert high school and is forced to take a cartooning class because there are no other classes open at that hour of school. She already has met her fine art requirement, so this is just to pass time before attending real subjects. I wonder how many hours a day a high school student in Shanghai spends with silly classes like this?”

“Take your choice - Petition-signing:
... Better details might be the following:
∙ On behalf of the citizens of Pima County, Arizona, a Utah group called “Americans Against Immigration Amnesty” is leading the effort to recall Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik. Their goal is to gather 110,000 signatures (Pima County registered voters) in the coming weeks.
∙ A immigration activists organization called “Arizonans for Better Government” filed the paperwork with the Secretary of State's Office to recall Arizona Senate President Russell Pearce. Arizonans for Better Government says the group is seeking to recall him because "of his history of action on immigration issues."
In the interest of Latino Republicans in the state, the Somos Republicans group, they have said that they have until May 27 to gather only 7,756 valid signatures to force a special election. But seek as many as 15,000 signatures.
∙ A new group in Chandler, Arizona, called “Committee to Recall Arizona Governor Jan Brewer” filled paperwork with the Secretary of State's office late Friday to Recall Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. Seeking to remove her from the chief executive's position because of her "gross mismanagement of Arizona's finances," this means they will need 432,021 valid signatures in the next 120 days. The only address for “Committee to Recall Arizona Governor Jan Brewer” new group is 4980 S. Alma School Rd., Ste. A2-#130 Chandler, AZ.

One would think the DEA and ONDCP has doctors or scientists on staff.
Sadly this is not so - we would like to see that changed and believe it is a step to change.
Please sign the letter petition to appoint a doctor or scientist to the DEA and ONDCP.

Thank you!

Pssst, nice try Dale!
Time to get a refund on your "spellchecker".
Cynacism isn't a word, either. [wink]

Cynacism. Some times turning on the automatic spell checker and not watching the results has adverse consequences. "Nevermind" Freethinker.

Yikes!
Never let it be said that I don't admit when I am wrong.
Sinicism (noun): something characteristic of or peculiar to the Chinese; a Chinese method, custom, or usage.
So Dale, Chinese methods and customs will get us nowhere? How is that at all revelent?

Neither will bobblesnitz.
Of course, since neither of those are actual words...

First Venter:
Sinicism will get us nowhere. Probably neither of these alternatives is worthy of our consideration. But if that is your point, sarcasm can be productive, but not on this site. Too many people take what is written here far too literally and far too seriously.
Second Venter:
I remember when it stood for National Reconstruction Administration, or something like to that. Today’s N.R.A. is a poor little sheep who has lost its way.
Third Venter:
Originally, Unions stood up for fair treatment of labor by management. Then management got soft and seeing the opportunity to move productive capacity overseas or to Right to Work States, decided to go along and allow Unions to get excessive. Labor Relations and History are topics very few of us have studied. Some of our most unproductive Unions are Public Employee Unions. Bureaucrats are inherently unproductive.
Fourth Venter:
Nice observation. But there are problems far worse that what you cite, problems going back to the adoption of strange educational philosophies 20 years ago. Any one out there care to address these?
Fifth Venter:
I imagine that conscientious Tea Partiers would agree. But my how Bachmann and Palin do draw the crowds!
