“I am glad to see some media now referring to it as a 'taxpayer bailout’ instead of a 'government bailout.’ The dollars used to salvage these inept corporations are the same ones we earned in our paychecks and then handed over on April 15. The taxpayers seem to be the only ones who know how to manage their own finances in the country. Look at our reward.”

“Tom Patterson, I have read your 'Health insurance crisis? Numbers say otherwise (Opinion 2, Sept. 14).’ What you don’t seem to understand is the elderly are not all taken care of. Those that have disabilities and have not had all of their quarters in do not have regular insurance and cannot get on AHCCCS.”

“My wife’s brother-in-law was in the hospital in Thailand this week. He thought he was having a heart attack and he went in for testing for a number of days. The entire hospital bill totaled $58. How come we can’t do that?”

“God made America sovereign and rich, and the liberals took it all away.”

“To the person who took their car key and scraped off my Barack Obama bumper sticker: You’re not going to intimidate me. I’m just going to get another one.”

“Thank God that we had Harry Truman drop the bomb that saved hundreds of thousand of American lives, and hundreds of thousands of Japanese lives. I think people have that conception reversed in some of their minds.”

“Those plastic bags can be recycled, dummy! That is, assuming you can be bothered to make the effort. Most recycled grocery bags are made into the 'fake wood’ boards that are found at various hardware/lumber stores. You know — the boards that don’t rot and don’t attract termites.”

“I don’t think Prop. 100 is a very good idea. I’d like to stay in my home for awhile, maybe the rest of my life. What good will it do for me to change the state constitution to benefit real-estate salesmen? That will just cause other taxes to be raised, instead.”

“I hope that at least some of the voters in this fine country are wondering why a governor with such vast 'executive experience’ would be stupid enough to use Yahoo mail for official government business… and then also choose a password that was so ridiculously easy to guess.”

“In 15 years of reading the EV Trib, this was the first 'Clergy Corner’ that was unadulterated trash. If (Kenneth) Jeffers and his Baha’i 'faith’ want be in politics, they need to give up their tax free status and move to the Opinion page.”

“Sheriff Arpaio will not be bounced from office in November, he will be again bounced into office. He is a man of integrity.”

“This is to the venter who thinks that freshman sports in Mesa are a joke. My daughter played freshman sports in Mesa public schools. Because of her positive experience, she stayed with her sport all through high school where it became a significant part of her life.”
