“Black Friday shoppers will never learn. Even a dumb fish doesn’t always take the bait. You are lured with a few, low-quantity sale items and end up buying what you did not want.”

“You know what I used to miss that I enjoy now? A pool hall, where I can sit and shoot pool, drink beer (and) listen to music without having to inhale somebody else’s bad habit.”

“Geez, reading Wednesday’s Vent, it sounds like most of Sheriff Joe (Arpaio’s) family and friends have called in already. On the other side of the coin, I’d like to say I think (police chief) George Gascón is doing a great job in Mesa. I’ve enjoyed watching him and supporting him.”

“It says here Arizona voters want to find out what we feel about Joe Arpaio. Let’s put a bond issue up tripling his salary and his amount of money. If he would go after more illegal aliens, believe me, it would pass in a minute.”

“I see all of the griping about the (Mesa) Police Department in the newspaper. You know, he police department has a lot of other things to do than just look for illegal aliens. I know. I inadvertently dialed 911, trying to make a phone call, and the police officers came out to my home and made sure everyone was OK. They were professional, polite and did an excellent job.”

“Isn’t time for the English-only politicians of Arizona (to) demand that all operas in the United States be sung in English and not in French, Italian, German, etc.? Stand up for what you believe.”

“Why do all of these people cry so much about the illegals, but when it comes time to work, they don’t want to do the work? These illegals are the only ones working.”

“I advise the U.S. not to build a fence between the U.S. and Mexico. It could restrict the U.S. from illegally entering Mexico, looking at the direction of the U.S. economy.”

“I work for a glass company. If the economy is so bad, why am I working four hours on Thanksgiving Day? I work 14-hour days. We’re so busy, we can’t hire trained people fast enough.”

“In response to the gentleman about the flat tire, and the person from India on the phone and the person from Yugoslavia to fix it (Vent, Friday), did you complain when your phone was made in China and they came to fix your Japanese car? It goes both ways.”

“You know, everybody talks about not having socialized medicine in the United States. When it comes down to all of these gamblers that are spending all of this money at the casino, what we need to do is tax them at 75 percent of their winnings and put that money into medicine for the people who can’t afford medicine and can’t afford to go gambling.”

“If praying for rain helped Atlanta, why doesn’t praying help those suffering from floods, wildfires, earthquakes and tornados?”

“To deposit money in an inmate’s account, you are told to get a money order and send it addressed directly to the jail, not the inmate. It was returned marked ‘postcards only.’ How can you send a money order on a postcard?”
