Patience!! The last thing we need is three more gas stations, a Walmart, flea market, and a bunch of national chain shops that offer nothing unique. Take a trip to the real Wrigley and get an idea what makes that work. Lets do it right now, and lets see what happens!

The current Riverview park is a pleasant welcome to the Riverview shopping area. If the city of Mesa junks it up (with Wrigleyville and Waveyard nonesense) and increases traffic congestion in the area, most shoppers will just go a mile or so down the road to Tempe Marketplace to do their shopping.

Sorry to say Suelee, most shoppers already go to Tempe market place. And congestion is not the problem.

The point of more commercial and retail shows the ignorance of this paper. We think we have to build a new shopping and entertainment area. Maybe their is a problem how we build them. What a waste of land it will be to use all of that "prime sales tax real estate" at the corner of 101 and 202 for practice fields. Where is the vision of this city? Of the Cubs??? I am sorry, but this area will never be anything like the true wriglefield of Chicago. Total different cities and density that WILL NOT support those type of businesses. It will be a strip mall with a smaller park and an empty stadium for 10 months of the year.

Cubs entertainment – Mesa Riverview – just across the street

    1) No Waveyard – water park/commercial/hotel development project near the Chicago Cubs facility
    2) No Wrigleyville West entertainment district – shops and restaurants at/near the Chicago Cubs facility

That’s good news for the Mesa Riverview located near there – just across Dobson Road with a good variety of shops, fast food restaurants, stores, restaurants, super walmart, common stores, and hotel. Include Bass Pro Shops, Cinemark Theatre, Toby Keith's I Love This Bar & Grill, Matta's Grill & Cantina, Famous Dave's Barbecue, Logan's Roadhouse, the Hyatt Place Phoenix/Mesa hotel, and Howie's Game Shack and Sports Authority.
