It seems to me that the solution to balancing the budget is quite simple.
Lets say the postal service has a stipulated employee budget of one billion dollars. Let us suppose that there are 20 thousand employees. A billion divided by twenty thousand equals $50,000 per employee for wage and benefits. Look, people, that is all we have, take it or leave it.
We have, say, 200 national parks in the country. The Dept. of Interior budget for their operation is 200 million dollars. That allows $1 million per park per year. Here you go, park manager, if you run out of money, the park is closed for the rest of the season.
Now that is equality that I can support. If you say that it isn’t fair, then you must want your piece of the pie to be bigger than others. This is called greed. That is what the Wall Street protesters claim to be against. Go figure!
