I wanted to write a short letter to express my thanks for the high level of care my mother received from two of your physicians at St Luke’s, Tempe during her treatment of osteomyelitis.
Prior to her coming to St Luke’s Wound Center, my mother, had been battling this wound on her right leg for six years. My mother had seen several doctors, and had different treatments for years with no success. That is, until a friend referred me to one of your wound specialists, Dr. Sam Nwafor.
The condition of the wound and my mother’s health prompted Dr. Nwafor to introduce me to one of his colleagues, Dr. Burt Faibisoff.
Several tests and an MRI were carried out. They explained to me the treatment options available to save my mother’s leg. With no health insurance, these doctors still worked very hard and went beyond their call of duty.
Above all, they treated her with dignity, respect and patience. Thank you St. Luke’s Wound Center and your amazing people.

She received healthcare without insurance? Thank God for ObamaCare. It declared that a problem, and it obviously solved it.
Oh wait. 6 years of treatment? (cured or not, she still lived with an open wound) And ObamaCare isn't even in effect yet? You must be lying. Healthcare was only for the rich, and we needed ObamaCare to help the uninsured. That's why it is acceptable that millions of people will not be covered by ObamaCare, and why ObamaCare handed out so many waivers.

Why accuse the writer of lying? The writer said she didn't have health insurance, not that she wasn't paying for treatment.

socratties, when someone tells an anecdote that doesn't fit in with the right wingers ideologue view of the world --- the only way to reconcile the conflict is for the right wingers to believe the person MUST be lying because their story conflicts with the right wingers concept of how the world < should > be.

Yep , no insurance. But she still got first class treatment.
Hmm, I thought this was why we needed Obamacare-because of all the uninsured dying in the streets from being denied care.
I am a betting man, I would bet sockratties any amount she is not paying anywhere near full freight for her care. I would also be curious how old she is, why she isn't on Medicare or Medicaid, and if she is in this country legally.

I was being sarcastic. The letter writer's narrative conflicts with the left-wing, not the right-wing.

Amazing the conclusions being jumped to, in these comments!
All that was stated was that the woman had no insurance, and had tried to have her leg wound fixed, for six years, before a friend referred her to someone who could actually help her...
If anything, that's an indictment to our failing healthcare system, and good anecdotal evidence of the need for Obamacare. If Obamacare was fully implemented, the woman wouldn't have had to rely on pure luck to find a doctor who specialized in her need. It may not have taken six years to find the help she needed, either.
Why bring up her legal status? Should she lose her leg, if she doesn't wave an American flag? Did she rise above the poverty level, enough to qualify for Medicare? Is she independently wealthy, and paid cash? We don't know...
Lastly, props to St. Luke's, for helping someone in need. That is, after all, what doctors should be all about...

Right wing, Left wing, center stage, like it or not. Romney-care, now Obama-care, is here to stay. But with the imbalance between House and Senate, four more years is likely to bring nothing new. Known for his ability to bring differing view points together, first on the Harvard Law Review, then in the Illinois Legislature, the test for our returning President will be Can he span our differences? I doubt it. But Romney showed us nothing as governor of Massachusetts. His one accomplishment where he did cross the aisle was Romney-Care. And that became the model for today's healthcare legislation at the National level. Like it or not, these are the facts.
