Stand your ground laws are a great idea. However, there should be one small modification to those laws as currently written. The change would require that if 911 is called, any instructions to break off contact and leave the matter to the police must be followed. Any further contact with the situation, after receiving any such instructions shall be prima facie proof of stalking, and any use of deadly force after receiving any such instructions shall be prima facie proof of attempted homicide, and if anyone dies shall be prima facie proof of first degree homicide. This check and balance would protect the supposed improperly accused perpetrator while retaining my right to use my Glock 21 when necessary.
