Kudos to Mr. Temple of Mesa regarding his Feb. letter: “What’s On TV?”. He says it as it should be said. You want quality shows, watch “ME-TV” or the “ANTENNA CHANNEL”. The good ol’ shows.

Actually, there are also some great shows on HBO and Showtime such as Boardwalk Empire, Homeland, and The Borgias which are shown without the restrictions placed on "free" television. Each are critically acclaimed and have won numerous awards.

The cable channels like AMC, TNT, A & E and STARZ also have some great shows like Southland, Longmire, The Americans, and Magic City. Even regular TV has some great shows like Vegas, The Big Bang Theory, and Blue Bloods.

Fortunately, for all of us, there are a myriad of TV shows that we can enjoy. Even the "oldie" favorites like Leave It to Beaver, Happy Days, and I Love Lucy can be found in syndication on channels like Nickelodeon, among others. No matter what one's preference is, there is always something for all of us. Thank God, that we don't have the limited options when there were only three or four channels to watch and all of them went off the air at midnight!

True. There are a number of channels out there with a variety of programming. Unfortuneatly, there are a lot of programs, and a small ppercentage that are actually good. You certainly don't want your kid to watch most primetime air or they will grow up with a mouth like a sailor and think that the world owes them. Every now and again, one of the new offerings is interesting and creative, but again, not really for the little ones. Most of the prime time TV has bathroom humor, tries to inflict their political bent and has really bad story lines and acting. Like most movies. The good thing here is it encourages long stretches where the TV is off.

Because I am super conservative, I watch Netflix, I enjoyed The Walking Dead, lots of brains flying everywhere, World Without End, it shows what our past was and what our future could be, lots of killing and sex all in the name of God, Lost, lots of the same as above. The Borgias, this has everything you need to make a movie good, lots of skin, sex, and murder, and corrupt religion. I loved the Henry the VIII series.

Finding cinematic quality movies or “musical movies” on TV that the whole family can enjoy can be a challenge.
