Sadly, again, we see a crazed attacker going on a rampage against innocent victims. This time it was in a community college in Houston and the attacker had a knife instead of a gun. Should we anticipate that Harry Reid, Diane Feinstein, and President Obama will now be calling for background checks when trying to purchase cutlery? Should knives of a certain length be outlawed? Will we see politicians surrounded by family members of the injured speaking out against Swiss Army?
An excerpt from the early reporting said: “The suspect, who witnesses say is a white male who has been seen on campus carrying a stuffed animal, reportedly told the tackling student ‘I give, I give,’ and was promptly arrested by police.” It sounds like this person may have shared characteristics with the other assailants of recent tragedies. So, much like the 99.9 percent of people who own guns, most of the people with knives in their house did not go out on a vicious rampage today. Maybe the real drive should be identifying people with these kind of mental challenges and getting them help.
