Isn’t it interesting that we didn’t hear a peep out of members of the tea party either before, or after, Congress extended the Bush tax cuts for millionaires and billionaires. There will be $374 billion added to the federal deficit in 2011 alone, so why is the tea party silent?
Wasn’t cutting the federal deficit their main issue?
Why were there no organized protests, like the ones that took place in the months prior to the election, about this outrageous addition to the deficit?
Could it be because the billionaire Koch brothers who fund the so called “grassroots” tea party movement were not using their money to rile up the troops, but were instead gloating over the hundreds of millions they would save?
I encourage a local tea party member to respond with a letter to this newspaper telling me why there was no outrage.
And please, don’t give me the mullarkey about the millionaires and billionaires using their tax savings to create jobs. If that were true, we would have seen an abundance of jobs created over the seven years that these tax cuts have already been in place.
