I’d like to publicly thank the unknown gentleman who stopped and helped my 13-year-old son who was hit by a car at the intersection of Guadalupe and Signal Butte Roads while riding his bike to Desert Ridge Junior High School on the morning of Thursday, (Sept.) 26th. This kind man witnessed the incident, helped get my son and his bike get out of the roadway, and stayed with him until police and paramedics arrived. He also provided a description of the vehicle that hit my son; a white SUV driven by an older woman that never stopped. Thankfully, my son was not seriously injured, but he was knocked down and his left elbow was broken by the impact. The break required surgery to have pins inserted to stabilize the bone.
I don’t know the name of this Good Samaritan who helped my son, but I wanted to let your readers know that there are people in the world who are willing to stop and help others in a crisis. I would also like to ask if anyone who lives in the area around Guadalupe and Signal Butte road saw the incident or knows the vehicle. While the kind man who helped my son was able to provide a description of the vehicle, he did not get the license plate number, so the police have little to go on in what is now a hit-and-run case. Thank you again, Good Samaritan, and may God bless you for your actions on that day!
