Dear Senator Kyl, as a former supporter of yours, I would like to share my observations of your performance over the past few years, especially during the current session. First, you must feel good in being part of a Senate caucus that has blocked every initiative of our president. Does that mean he had absolutely no good programs, including many that were originally Republican ideas? Your position on leading the opposition to the ratification of the START treaty is astounding and most disappointing -- especially since former President George H.W. Bush and every Republican secretary of state support the ratification.  This week you spoke out against the leadership keeping the Senate in session up to Christmas. Your logic is almost laughable. Do you realize that millions of citizens who are fortunate enough to have jobs, will be working up to and on Christmas?

Obviously, your long tenure in Washington has made you a callous, out-of-touch politician.

Ronald Pies, Tempe

Hello, we are with the Jon Kyl recall campaign. We are now officially registered with the Arizona Secretary of State http://ftp.azsos.gov/election/2012/General/Initiatives.htm
U.S. Senator Jon Kyl has signed a recall statement on file with the Arizona Secretary of State. We are trying to let people know that we do not have to accept corrupt and heartless politicians such as U.S. Senator Jon Kyl, whether Democrat, Republican or any political party.
I myself am neither a Democrat or Republican. I happen to be a member of the Green party but the recall counts for everyone not just the two major political parties. I believe that healthcare for emegency responders should not be held hostage over politics especially in the embarassing and sad way this non-honest senator Kyl has done. The rumor is he wants to retire early, well we are here to help him retire a little early and make an example of what happens to corrupt politicians like Kyl who give a Arizona a black eye especially when it comes to providing medical care for our brave emergency responders of 9/11. BTW, a "voice vote" was taken and if Kyl cared so much about our police, firefighters and emergency responders why wouldn't he put his name down on paper to show his support? Foolish pride and ego that's why ! Shame on Jon Kyl, recall this sold out politician and throw him out ! Please call us if you have any questions at: 623-329-0284 and our webpage is: leonardclark.net

To this American, and to millions of others who have seen RIGHT THROUGH the political and partisan Republican tactics of OPPOSING EVERYTHING put forth by President Obama and the Democrats,
it is good to see the comments in agreement with Ronald's letter!

Let's hope that the Republicans dont become too obvious in their big business agenda,
because they will be in for some
political realignment as soon as their spoiled rich kid bahavior becomes more evident once the new Congressional year starts.

Hey Gang, Did Republican Leadership work with the opposition in this past lame duck session?

Notwithstanding his efforts to obtain funding to modernize nuclear weapons and their delivery systems as a part of Senate ratification of START, Arizona Senator Kyl voted Nay as did Senator McCain, his counterpart. Tennessee Senator Alexander, Mississippi Senator Cochran, Maine Senators Collins and Snowe, Utah Senator Bennett, New Hampshire Senator Gregg, Georgia Senator Isakson, Nebraska Senator Johanns, Indiana Senator Lugar, Alaska Senator Murkowski, and Ohio Senator Voinovich, all Republicans, joined with Connecticut Senator Liebermann and Vermont Senator Sanders, both Independents, in voting for ratification.

What is the matter with McCain and Kyl? Wasn’t $85 billion enough of a concession? Where some conservatives point to Republicans as having worked together in the Lame Duck session with Democrats, can Republican leadership by Kentucky Senator McConnell and Arizona Senator Kyl, both voting Nay, be characterized as cooperation? Heck no!

Dale Whiting’s question; ‘Are you ever going to reply to my response to your comment on my 8/26/2010 piece on Islam? Or did you concede to me and Rich on that one”

    ------------------------------

Answer: Are you, Dale Whiting, and Rich going to respond to “your list of things we can and ought to do to help solve the immigration problem’, which was posted on the 12/19/2010, piece?

Are you just acknowledging, grudgingly and hesitantly, that you are only for amnesty. The act of an authority by the government to pardon all illegal aliens as in the "Utah Compact" , and drug trafficking by illegals?

P.S. Did you see my comment today including that 12/5 article from the NY Times? Are you ever going to reply to my response to your comment on my 8/26/2010 piece on Islam? Or did you concede to me and Rich on that one/

    Accuracy,

So may I infer from your silence on START that you agree with Ronald and me?

Having watched Senator Kyl's, at times bizarre behavior and statements, I am forced to concur that he is now using crack...

Sen. Jon Kyle and other Republican senators publicly opposed passing (before Christmas) the bill to give continuing health benefits and compensation to first responders who got sick after the 9/11 terror attacks.

But despite the opposition, the bill passed unanimously after Senate Democrats reached a deal with Republicans.

    Ronald,

I was a bit groggy this morning when I heard a commentator report that the initial $5 billion concession Kyl received to support START had been increased to $85 billion, this austensibly for tactical warhead delivery systems upgrading, so I may not have gotten the precise figure correct. But it was a whole lot more than the $12 billion I heard about last week.

A new arms war has begun. And now we will do the exact same thing the Soviets did in StarWars, spend ourselves into oblivion. But where Russia had the natural resources to recover [read crude oil and natural gas], we are dependent upon other nations to warm ourselves and fuel our cars to get to whatever work we can find.

Thank you Senator Kyl for you 'what's in it for me" leadership.
