The Democrats have conceived a very clever game plan, the carrot on a stick. Promise the people enough free handouts that they become dependent on you for their very survival, then give them just enough to keep their votes, so you can stay in a government office where the money and power are.

Problem is what happens when there are more people with their hands out than there are people that are working to fill those lazy hands? The one thing we do know is that it will not end well and we are going to wish we could go back in time and have taken the road that didn’t lead to ruin!

    Well Gary,
Let's see. The newly reconstituted and normalized Mitt promised the middle class a tax break. JUST HOW LAUGHABLE IS THAT?
He also got the grand poobah of the cult to let the masses drink cokes.
It's a miracle!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm sure they consulted Olivia Cortez first. in Spanish, of course.
Your boy Mitt told his "chosen few" that 47% of all Americans are on the dole. He didn't say it in public, just to his fat cat friends and contributors. Same with the gift BS.
Lame excuses seem to resonate with you radicals.
Mitt promised the people that he would make jobs for all. Mitt only knows how to buy, gut and sell companies. Mitt doesn't know a "common" man. Except maybe the guy pushing the lawn mower, and he only sees a Mexican. He certainly would not KNOW him.

What a load of partisan tripe! As if both parties don't do the selling of perks, for their constituents...

The only strategy that the Democrats have had to play, in recent times, is to let the Republicans assert themselves, and reveal the homogenized vision of their platform, while espousing the "individual's" rights...

"You're free to be an individual, as long as it conforms to our antiquated views." --Republican

"You're free to be an individual, as long as you are willing to submit to our eclectic and ever-changing views."--Democrat

Neither party is really into that whole freedom of the individual thing. It's just window dressing.

How can anyone support either of these parties, and not recognize the manipulations that they both employ?

Of all the Democrats I know, not one of them lines up 100% with the party. Of all the Republicans I know, most do not line up 100% of the party platform, except for a few family members that are part of the tea party. They, tea party., are the ones we try to avoid while the rest of us have an adult conversation.

    Gary,
What you say is true. Now let the liberal/progressive/socialist/democrats own the results of this last election. We now see that the 47% has become the 52% that voted for more handouts. The "Takers" outnumber the "Makers".

Yes sir, those crazy Tea Partiers that talk about wanting the Government to be smaller and less taxation on the people. Definitly a radical thought. Please share xyno, what the adults in the room have to say about such radical thinking?

Rather than taking on Gary's points directly, let's assume he is right. We are now on a path to ruin, a path followed earlier by Greece and other European countries. Let us assume that Mitt Romney was right but that we chose [were mislead by democrats playing a cleaver game] to follow that path. What is to be done?

Gary says, "read'm and weap". Mitch McConnell says the same. Boehner pretty much says the same. Sure they all appeared with the President and said they'd place revenue enhancement on the table. But time will tell us if they meant it.

Now is the time for cooperation, for calling each side's bluff. Will we get deep spending cuts calling for all [rich man, poor man, middle class too] to sacrifice? Will be see tax loop holes benefiting only a few close? Let's see who is cleaver now!!!!!

My money's on the Democrats. The Republicans seem to be lost in the fog.

"Democrats play clever game" while Republicans play stupid.

Sen. Marco Rubio was asked, "How old is the earth?"

Response, “I don't think I'm qualified to answer a question like that.”

Rubio was selected by Republicans to sit on the Senate Commerce, Science and Transportation Committeee.

Rubio claims to understand economies, he claims to know that science, technology and engineering are the things that build better economies, that produce higher yields, that determine GDP. Yet, to Rubio, the age of the earth is “one of the great mysteries.”

    That is stupid.

Gary, It's a sad but true assessment of the tactics used by the Democrats to buy votes. Take from those that earn it and give to those that don't. Engaged Voter, I did not see anywhere a reference to soldiers. Are you assuming? Maybe like many of us, He is sick of some people sitting on their backsides expecting us to take care of them? Even two Democrat coworkers of mine laugh and say sure they are buying votes, so what. Then when asked who is going to pay for it? Answer, I don't care as long as it's not me! That's the sad and selfish problem with our country![sad]
