Agenda 21 Sustainable Development is a forty-chapter document adopted and signed by 178 nations at the United Nations Conference on the Environment and Development in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Many people have heard the name, but don’t understand how it is being implemented and why it is so devastating to our American way of life.
What is Agenda 21? Simply, it is the plan of the UN to control all land use and resources worldwide to supposedly avoid the environmental disasters anticipated by “man-made global warming”. But more than 31,000 scientists from many fields have issued a declarative statement in the book, Climate Change Reconsidered, to the effect that there is no global warming that is not a part of the earth’s natural cyclical pattern. There has been warming and cooling naturally long before the industrial revolution. There is no man-made global warming.
As was written in Club of Rome, The First Global Revolution, 1991: “In searching for a new enemy to unite us, we came up with the idea that pollution, the threat of global warming, water shortages, famine and the like would fit the bill. But in designating them as the enemy, we fall into the trap of mistaking symptoms for causes. All these dangers are caused by human intervention and it is only through changed attitudes and behavior that they can be overcome. The real enemy, then, is humanity itself.”
If the real enemy is man, then man must be controlled in all aspects of his life through these UN agendas. That is their reasoning.
ICLEI (International Council on Local Environmental Initiatives), a (non-government organization) of the UN, is tasked with implementing Agenda 21 in every city, county and nation in the world. Knowing when your city became a member of ICLEI connects it solidly to the UN. ICLEI is not the UN; ICLEI is an NGO of the UN.
Former president Bill Clinton directed all federal agencies to work with state and city governments to re-invent government using the guidelines of Agenda 21 through Executive Order 12858. Two million dollars was given to the American Planning Association (APA) to come up with model legislation for states, counties and cities. Local governments then apply for grants from federal agencies to fulfill on the plans.
Citizens who are going to fight Agenda 21 must not be naïve. This is what you are looking at: National organizations like the National Conference of Mayors, National League of Cities, national associations for city council members and county commissioners, the National Governors Association, ALEC for state legislators. The Governors’ and Mayors’ associations’ leaders have been meeting with UN officials for years to promote these policies.
Add to those the EPA, air and water quality agents, Interior Department officials, HUD officials, energy officials, Commerce Department official — all targeting your locally elected officials with policy, money, regulations, reports, special planning boards, meetings, conferences and staff training, all promoting the exact same agenda. Add un-elected boards and commissions, and regional boards who have real power, but no accountability. Now, add the media who will attack and label anyone who dares not go along with what is known to be a good thing, necessary, the trend, the concensus.
Your elected official walked into this web of subversion completely unprepared. It is up to “We the People” to do the research and then educate and demand Agenda 21’s removal.
In all of the areas of concern: Population and Poverty, Land Issues and Property Rights, Air and Water Quality issues, Chemicals and Waste Management, and Meeting Human Needs, the real obstacles to wealth, health and abundance are war, government corruption and overregulation, restrictions that stifle creativity and initiative, and an absence of protected private property rights.
Here is the Good News: Because of our Constitution and our Founders, we know that the pillars of a stable society and wealth creation are private property rights and a free market economy protected by the instituted government. The system created by our Founders is based on one eternal truth: freedom and responsibility go together. Benjamin Franklin said it this way, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”
