An interesting paradox, so to speak, created by typical Republican hypocrisy!
Republicans now hold 30 of the 50 state governorships in America and a majority of the state legislatures. They brag about how they are reducing government and cutting taxes, but as it turns out there is something they don’t want you to know.
For every dollar they put in, Republican states get $1.46 back. Democratic states get $1.16. Of the 22 states that voted for John McCain in 2008, 86 percent received more federal funding than they paid in taxes, compared to only 55 percent of the states that voted for Barack Obama.
Then the Republican politicians have the temerity to brag that their states have lower taxes. Well, of course they can afford lower taxes: The feds are picking up the tab!
What they don’t tell you is that they’re spending just as much money. They’re just being subsidized by the Democratic states!”
On a national level, these same regressives are suddenly finding out people are none to happy to see the sequestration cuts that are affecting the services these citizens enjoy and use regularly. People are waking up to the realization that our government is supposed to help make our lives better through the ‘common good’ and are not happy to see these neo-cons telling them they can no longer get help feeding their hungry children after working 10 hour days at minimum wage, while increasing tax breaks for corporations and cutting taxes on billionaires!
Americans can see through the hypocrisy!
