Republican Eric Cantor, House Majority Leader, would not approve emergency funding to tornado-devastated Joplin, Mo. unless an equal amount of funding was cut from another federal program. They cut a million dollars from a green energy program to equal the million sent to Joplin. Unbelievable — oil companies get billions in subsidies, but green energy gets cut.

Cantor should be ashamed of himself. He used the people in a dire emergency as pawns, and then had the chutzpah to boast about how proud he was to send the money to help them. I hope the people in this country wake up and understand that the Republican-dominated House of Representatives is working hard to destroy the middle class as they favor the businesses that are “too big to fail.”
