Regarding Friday’s letter to the editor “Mocking Christian values”, we are not of the animal family. Genesis 1-26,27: God made man after His own image. And God is NOT ANIMAL. Better read the Bible again. Please.

    Gay marriage a mockery

In Dennis Riswold’s Letter: Mocking Christian values -- “Homosexuals, go visit your local livestock farmer/rancher and you will observe all farm animals are of the heterosexual basis. Humans are of the animal family also and as the Bible states in the book of Genesis, man will be superior over all other animals (creatures of the earth,) and they, all animal creatures, are placed under man’s authority.”

In Virginia Clinkenbeard’s Letter: Read Bible again: We are not animals -- “ we are not of the animal family. Genesis 1-26,27: God made man after His own image. And God is NOT ANIMAL. Better read the Bible again. Please.”

    ------------------------------------------------

Our Creator. Genesis 1: 26-27: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth. So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.

What Is God Saying? Animals do not question their nature or place in creation. There is no second-guessing or rebellion, no uncertainty or angst. They simply live according to their God-given instincts.

God also has given us instincts, a free will and the ability to choose. Yet these privileges sometimes can cripple us or block us from receiving God's blessings. With us, God wants a relationship of faithfulness and commitment, fidelity and loyalty, where we understand that we belong to Him, but He also is committed to us.

The ultimate expression of this is the relationship God wants with His people and the kind of relationship God wants for a marriage between a man and woman.
