I found the letter to the editor "Tea party should practice what it preaches" (Aug. 19) by Edward Murphy to be very entertaining. Mr. Murphy states the tea party are the ones that never get their facts straight and they need to tone down their rhetoric.

Really, is this not the same group that on a regular bases iscalled names like rednecks, racists, bigots, backward thinking, hostage takers and even terrorists by many politicians, and in the media on the left? He goes on to talk about how the president is not a socialist and is not treated with respect by the tea party.

Perhaps we could look at the treatment the previous president received at the hands of those on the left for an example then. As for being a socialist, it makes one wonder why if he is not, he would have individuals in his administration who are. Why does the current administration's ideology seam to so closely align with that of socialism? I agree we need to do more fact checking as it is becoming harder to trust certain media outlets for factual information. As for the tea party being the ones starting the rhetoric, as a very wise man once said, "Why do you worry about the speck in your neighbor's eye when have plank in your own."
