In reply to Salli Nelson, thank God for an officer of the law with the guts and backbone of Joe Arpaio. Drug dealers, rapists and car thieves would love for you liberals to get rid of him. Joe, you doing a great job and all of us Canadians love you and feel very safe wintering here. We bring a fare amount of the "green" to your state, which we know that you like.

Unfortunately, Roy, "Drug dealers, rapists and car thieves" also love Sheriff Joe, you see he's terrible at catching them. Over 400 little girls can tell you that. He's an advertisement for them to come here. Since I live here year 'round, I find it rather offensive that someone who doesn't falls for the phony hype and puts me in danger. I found Joe rather harmless and a bit of a clown, until I looked up how badly he does the job. Hope it's safer in Red Deer.

Phoenix Police Department records shows 2,088 unsolved murders over a 28-year period, with a clearance rate of just 54.6 percent.

MCSO isn't the only law enforcement agency having problems.

There is no place on Earth the size and density of Maricopa County that is perfectly safe, but since Joe took over we have seen a drop in violent crimes and theft. He gets a A+ in my book and can have that job for as long as he wants it. The Maricopa County crime rate, which dropped 19 percent between 2004 and 2008, is declining more than twice as quickly as the national average. The Sheriff's relentless pursuit of ALL crimes is the reason, with the illegal alien infestation removal at the very heart of the drop in crime. With over five decades experience in law enforcement, Arpaio knows what the public wants, “The public is my boss,” he says, “so I serve the public.” He has served them well, and will be easily reelected.

Roy, I suggest you take him back to Red Deer with you when you return and advocate for him to become the sheriff there. I am sure the people of Red Deer will welcome the lack of investigations in all future sex crimes there.

Clueless! The man is a menace to every citizen of Maricopa County.
The biggest publicity hound ever known and has cost Maricopa County far more than he's worth in lawsuits and lost business and tourism dollars!

Roy, when presented Sheriff Arpaio's qualifications to be Sheriff of Red Deer, include this example of his "great job" at professional law enforcement:
Brian Crenshaw was serving a short sentence for shoplifting. He was legally blind. Crenshaw refused to show his ID in a lunch line and Sheriff’s deputies pushed him to the wall, punched and kicked him, and placed him in lockdown. For the next six days, nobody entered or left his cell.
Crenshaw was found unconscious with a broken neck, several broken toes, and extensive internal injuries. He was comatose, his intestines had ruptured, and his vertebrae needed to be straightened with a halo. Doctors told Crenshaw's mother that his internal injuries were so severe they had to surgically open his stomach to relieve swelling. He died as a result of injuries that had been untreated for six days.
The family sued and the lawsuit against Arpaio and his office resulted in an award of $2 million. In an all too typical pattern, Arpaio's office destroyed evidence in the case, making it more difficult to prosecute.
There are 6,300 other such cases.
Believe me, you are welcome to him, but I suspect your fellow Canadians really don't want a sadistic clown who panders to the worst instincts of people as a resident, let alone a Sheriff.

A few low life scum criminals get mistreated and you all think he's a menace to society? Well maybe to your society of low life scum criminals, but not to the overwhelming majority of voters that see his actions as bland in comparison to what is really needed. I suggest you leave Maricopa if you are afraid of the law. We law abiding citizens love him and the great work he has done to clean up this valley.

Wonder why he keeps getting elected? Must be because "The man is a menace to every citizen of Maricopa County". Or maybe it is because most of the people who live here believe he is carrying out the law and making people who break it think twice next time. Or maybe it is because the people think that the bloat of illegal aliens is a bad thing and something needs to be done about it. Probably the latter......
