Let's see if I understand correctly our current illegal immigration situation. We have federal laws that clearly state that it's illegal to come into the U.S. without proper documentation. It is illegal to have "sanctuary cities" in defiance of our immigration laws. It's illegal to "transport, hide, provide any support to illegals who violate federal immigration laws."
Although we have these federal immigration laws, the Obama administration openly refuses to enforce them, stating that they are only interested in arresting violent criminals who violate our immigration laws.
This means not protecting our borders. Obama sues Arizona because that state made a decision to protect its citizens by enforcing federal laws. Yet he turns a blind eye to sanctuary cities such as L.A., San Francisco, Chicago, etc. . Recently, it was revealed that the states of Washington, Utah and New Mexico openly provide illegal immigrants with a valid drivers license which is also in violation of federal immigration law.
So, the lesson here is fairly clear. If a person, organization, state or city chooses to violate the federal immigration law, it's perfectly OK. Nothing will happen; no action by the feds will be taken to stop them. However, if a state, county or city chooses to protect its citizens by enforcing the federal immigration law, then they will end up being sued by Obama, Eric Holder, the Department of Justice and of course, the ACLU. I think I get it now. I believe I fully understand our federal immigration policy. Do you?
