As a sixth generation Texan, I would like to both thank you and empathize with you for the state of your political leadership in the great State of Arizona.

Thank you for the gift of Gabrielle Giffords. Her amazing courage, determination, and leadership are very inspiring. She exemplifies what we all wish public servants would aspire to become. She is that rarity in politics that uplifts the nation when we discover she exists in the political realm.

Now for Governor Brewer. Seeing the attached picture from the Huffington Post should have embarrassed you royally. Being from Texas, I know what it is to feel the shame and embarrassment of having an unqualified, self righteous, ethically-challenged governor that cares more about ideology than the citizens that sent him/her to the state capitol.

Gov. Jan Brewer is a national embarrassment. Her little tarmac stunt was already pulled by Rick Perry to promote his book and to arrange a photo op. For her to disrespect the President of the United States by putting her finger in his face is absolutely inexcusable!!

Nothing she can say, can ever erase what the world has now seen. Obviously, Gov. Brewer doesn't understand that she represents all of you. Every time she pulls a stunt like that, she shames the great state of Arizona. As citizens, by electing her, you elected to have this behavior be your calling card.

You elected her even though you knew she wasn't qualified. When she showed her inability to formulate cogent thought in her televised debate, y'all should have seen that as a red flag. Now, as she continues to embarrass you nationally, bear that in mind the next time she decides to take money from the prison lobby in your state.

Charles Jackson, M.A.

Arlington, Texas

How many more anti-Governor Jan Brewer "Letters to the Editor" are we going to be subjected to by our Liberal Newspaper Media. The Phoenic New-d Times, the Mesa Republic and the Arizona Republic must have printed dozens in the last week or so.

The same type of "smear campaign" that has been directed against Sheriff Joe Arpaio, ex-Speaker Kirk Adams, ex-Senate President Russell Pearce.

ALL BECAUSE THESE GREAT ARIZONIANS ARE THE BIGGEST SUPPORTERS OF...........................................SB 1070.

The pro-ILLEGAL ALIEN AMNESTY GROUPS....LA RAZA, THE CATHOLIC CHURCH, THE MORMON CHURCH, THE LIBERALS, THE PROGRESSIVES, THE DEMOCRATS AND THEIR CALIFORNIA ACTIVISTS AND SADLY, OUR NEWSPAPER EDITORS AND TELEVISION EXECUTIVES .....bombard us daily with their...........anti-SB 1070 propaganda.....hoping to bring the pro-Obama voters to the 2012 Election booth.

So Brewer was following a Rick Perry stunt! I'd given her credit for originality. Now it does not appear that this credit was due!

Leon, wake up! Your ship, IT'S SINKING!

Charles Jackson, all you have to do read the letters to the editor or the vent and you will realize Brewer is at the top of the food chain for most of Arizona residents, you should also realize the news media in Arizona is not to inform the people but to control the readers. Look at the all elected politicians or shoud I say those who left office in disgrace or soon will, but don't blame the good people of Arizona, When Arizona is in the bottom 5% in the U.S.[beam][beam]

You sure can tell a Texan. You can't tell him much but you can tell him.

Aren't any of you going to comment on the substance of this letter? Brewer was pulling a Rick Perry! The man reporting this as fact is not the subject of the letter. Rather the subject is Jan Brewer doing something Rick Perry has also done.

May I quote? "Her little tarmac stunt was already pulled by Rick Perry to promote his book and to arrange a photo op."

    Comments anyone?

    P.S. Boys,

It's now 55% who think Brewer was out of line! Your support is falling!

They were both out of line. Which one looked worse was the product of photographers and editors. That only 6% notice that is the reason the media has this country by the short hairs. Apparently, 94% actually believe them and argue about it, rather than realize that if their brains were leather you wouldn't have enough of it to saddle a butterfly.

People from Texas need to worry about Texas. The whole incident has been blown out of proportion by the media just to stir the pot. I'm sure Obama with his chip on the shoulder snapped at her and she snapped back, time to put it to bed !

A Poll Position national scientific telephone survey of 1,186 registered voters nationwide was conducted January 29, 2012.

Did Arizona Gov. Jan Brewer disrespect President Obama?

In the Poll: 44% think it was disrespectful for Arizona Governor Jan Brewer to point her finger in the face of President Obama, while 41% said it was not disrespectful, and 15% had no opinion at all.

    A very small margin.

Nobody has mentioned Obama's clinched fist with his thumb sticking forward. Now, would that be a sign of disrespect? You won't hear the liberals commenting on that.

First, welcome to Arizona, not Texas. We here are a proud people, as are all of the other states with their respective pluses/minuses. Since dissent protects democracy, let us begin. Representative Giffords is/was a liberal democrat, irrespective of her unfortunate circumstances. Mr. Jackson, Comparing Perry to Governor Brewer?----on immigration issues, they are worlds apart. Governor Brewer is a class act. SB1070 was signed into law to protect the citizentry, not an act of grandstanding or to gain political points. As a matter of fact, Barry Soreto turned his back on her while she was in the middle of a sentance. Typical islamic teaching of treating women as 2nd-class citizens. Does muslim-dominated Indonesia ring a bell?

And set up $100,000 discount grant programs for children of “illegal aliens” that will cover their tuition and fees at most colleges . . the way they do in your state of Texas?

Thank you Mr Jackson. Question, besides being shot in the face, what else do you know about Rep Giffords. OK, so on your standard, if Gov. Brewer would have got shot in the face and lived and not got caught in a odd picture with the Predisdent, she may too be a national hero. No one should publicly disrespect a President. As others have stated, things were much quiter when Bush was in office on this point.

What about Obama's PHYSICAL CONTACT, grabbing the arm of our Govrnr?

Her finger is pointed, but I'm not so sure it was directly at the President, or "in his face" either. I want Brewer to stand up to what OBAMA demanded. A Federal lawsuit against AZ before the Supreme Court even voted on SB1070. Anyone with any intellect knew it was headed to the Supreme Court no matter what. Prudence dictates it would have been better for all concerned to wait until the court made their decision.
