"Mayor Scott Smith needs to have a ribbon cutting ceremony with champagne for his consolidated canal paths and traffic lights. I have seen no one walking on these heat strips. I guess they don't like the smell of rubber burning."

"So the governor wants to move up the presidential primary to late January. I have a better idea: Let's select by acclimation someone who has no chance, like Ron Paul, and save the millions of taxpayer dollars it costs to hold this beauty contest."

First Venter:
When I lived in Mesa, I walked, ran and bikes the Western Canal and wished it could be improved. Seeing the improvements now in place, I observe that there still is plenty of room for those of us who like unpaved surfaces on which to run. When is the last time you got off your couch and toured a canal?
Second Venter:
Do you think the Tea Party would countenance the our surrendering of our Constitutional right to nominate candidates? The only consolation I have from the 2000 campaign is voting for McCain in the primary even though Bush 43 was a forgone conclusion.
Third Venter:
Maybe we should broaden our pledge of allegiance to make it clear that we are paying homage to Jehova, Allah, Sheva, etc. Could it hurt to remind ourselves that there is one God with many names?

What to consider and recognize while this nation seeks divine guidance is; As the Pledge of Allegiance states, we are a nation under God; and as our currency proclaims, our trust is in God — not “government.”
