Regarding that "scathing" Department of Justice report being used as a club against Sheriff Arpaio, isn't this the Department of Justice, under Eric Holder, who attacked SB1070 before he had even read the bill?
Isn't Eric Holder under investigation for "Fast and Furious" for deliberately allowing guns to flow to Mexican drug cartels, and that resulted in the death of Arizona Border Patrol Agent Brian Terry?
Isn't the Civil Rights Division, under Assistant Attorney General Thomas Perez, the same one that has been sanctioned for more than $4 million for frivolous lawsuits and misconduct?
Thomas Perez once served as president of Casa de Maryland, a radical open borders group that encourages ILLEGAL aliens not to speak with the police and urges local governments not to enforce federal fugitive warrants against them
Thomas Perez fought to mandate that the Mexican ID be recognized as a valid photo ID in the United States, even though two-thirds of Mexico's states and districts don't accept them because they are so rife with fraud.
It was Thomas Perez who demanded the dismissal of charges of voter intimidation against the New Black Panthers, despite videotape evidence and documented testimony from Bartle Bull, a civil rights activist who supported Robert Kennedy.
Thomas Perez's Voting Section suppressed the military vote in 2010 by dragging its feet, so that many of our fighting men and women overseas don't have a place to register to vote, and don't get their ballots in time for their votes to be counted.
The barrage of "investigations" against Arpaio began 49 days after Barack Obama was inaugurated, and you don't think these attacks are politically motivated? Do you believe that the DOJ cares about the civil rights of U.S. citizens? I think it spends most of its time subverting our country's immigration and voting laws.

Anita,
I wonder what motivated this investigation? Was there anyone in the administration who had had first hand experience, perhaps as a prosecuter in Arizona, and knew about Sheriff Joe's reputation? How about our former Governor and Federal prosecutor, Janet Napolitano? Could she have been behind some of this?
No, it was not a political shot in the dark. It was a shot in the light of day, and well justified.
Dale Whiting posted at 7:55 am on Fri, Feb 10, 2012.
P.S. I know! Napolitano worked her way up through the US AG staff of prosecutors to become US Attorney General for the State of AZ under Clinton. Then she ran for Governor. Arizona has elected Democrats to high office, especially when Republicans mess up with whom they nominate.

Smoke and mirrors, Dale. Was there anything that Anita stated in the article that was inaccurate?
Dale Whiting posted at 9:56 am on Fri, Feb 10, 2012.
Mr. 666,
Anita cites to a list of facts, then concludes " I think [the DOJ] spends most of its time subverting our country's immigration and voting laws." It's not her facts that I take exception with, it's her conclusion. I offer an alternative conclusion, one much more logical. Where are the facts to support efforts to subvert immigration and voting laws? Where is the logic behind reaching such an illogical conclusion?
Applying Anita's logic to another set of facts, George W. Bush and Richard Cheney are warmongering politicians with their hands in the deep pockets of the military industrial complex. Get my point? Bush/Cheney were just trying to stay out in front of a charging herd of elephants heading for a cliff [remember the GOP symbol is the elephant!] Holder was trying to keep a balance on programs initiated by his predecessors, and keeping things balances is not an easy task.
Thomas Perez is a new character, one I'm not familiar with. So let's hear from the other side before we go charging over Anita's cliff!
And citing all of her facts to support unfair investigations of Sheriff Joe merely points to Anita's preexisting prejudices.

Common sense. How many times have you been pulled over in your car and the police did not ask you for your Driver's License and Registration? The answer is likely every time. Some how, Perez, the current DOJ and therefore the Obama Administration would like you to think that because you do it to illegal immigrants (ahem undocumented Democrats) that now the Police are racists. I am sure that makes perfect sense to someone. Just not most of the people in AZ or Maricopa county.

Anita: You are still entitled to cite your personal views as long as this is a free country. Anyone can try to second guess your intent but since the paper published your piece, it is there for the reading.

If it acts like a rat and looks like a rat, it's a rat. Eric Holder and Thomas Perez are with out a doubt, a couple of rats !

This should be pretty obvious to anyone that this is a political move designed to rally the Hispanic vote. Another thing, these so called illegal immigrants are not immigrants at all. They are migrants. Calling someone an immigrant implies legality, and a desire to become an American. These people are here to use American hospitality and have no intention of helping to build America better. They are long term guests that have over stayed their welcome. They refuse to learn English and demand that we learn Spanish or print everything in Spanish too. As soon as the welfare drys up they will go back to their own country. They identify with Mexico and not America. DemoRATS want them to become citizens to bolster their voting base even though it will bankrupt America. This Obamanation does not care about the American people. He does not share our values. He will fundamentally destroy America if he gets a second term.

All we are asking of the DOJ is to show us the proof of racial profiling against Sheriff Joe so we can draw our own conclusions. Where is the transparency we were promised by the "Campaigner-in-Chief". But then again we are just subjects of our lord and master, Obama, and that he will decide what is justice or injustice.

Right, just give us the facts so that we may judge whether this is just politically motivated to rally the Hispanic vote or if there really is any proof of the allegations. If there were enough voting Rastafarians out there in voter land demanding that officers stop profiling them as pot smokers the Obamanation would add that to the charges. IF the Hispanic community would start cooperating with law enforcement in dealing with these illegal migrants and stop aiding and abetting these criminals there would not be a problem.
