Whining from the Left regarding Mitt Romney’s silence to the sounds of renewed birther cries are hilarious and hypocritical. Romney is not the least bit responsible for the views of Donald Trump and would be foolish to jump into the fray of this non-issue.
Let the left shed their hypocritical mantle by insisting Obama his PAC return Bill Maher’s million-dollar donation and distance himself from this serial misogynist. Then we can revisit distancing of the birther issue.

Amy – don’t try to make yourself special by calling Bill Maher a misogynist. Ann Coulter already spent that token. Bill makes his living by holding nothing sacred. So he takes a few shots at Sarah Palin. She’s fair game although too easy a target. Maher is an equal opportunity hater. Perhaps he would better be called a misanthrope. Just as you disavow responsibility for Donald Trump, the “left” you refer to are not responsible for the views of Bill Maher.

Amy is right -- it's hard to criticize Romney when Obama's happy to take Maher's millions.
But Romney takes it one crucial step further -- appearing, more than once, with Trump. And when asked to repudiate Trump, makes some kind of disingenuous reply.
A pox on both candidates' houses.

Isn't the real culprit here Citizens United which put all political offices up for sale to the highest bidder? Seems anyone running for office has little choice but to take any and all contributions just to stay in the race. Make no mistake - I do not condone the practice but where oh where is the outrage that we should be expressing?
A pox on all American houses.

Seems to me Bill Mahar's measly million dollars is a mere drop in the bucket compared to "Willard" gladly prostituting himself to the corporate plutocrats and their coup too overthrow the working class in what's left of America.
The GOP and thier insurrectionist brothers in the tea party, sold out the middle class to thw highest bidders a long tme ago.
If these b#&/+&%s when in November, the working class is through and America as we know it will become a bittersweet footnote in history.

Hypocrite from the Greek "hupokites = one who plays a part.
Boy, that sure describes all the Left-Wing Liberals, the Progressives and the Democrats when they call themselves......AMERICANS.......doesn't it?
How can these Liberals, Progressives and Democrats be Americans if they haven't any respect for American Citizenship. They want to pimp it out for votes by giving it away as ....AMNESTY....to 20 Million Illegal Aliens from Mexico, Guatamala, Honduras and El Salvador.
What is even more ....HYPOCRITICAL....are Republicans In Name Only (the so-called ....R.I.N.O.'s) who are doing the same thing.
Sadly, we see so much ...HYPOCRACY....in America these days. Major Church Groups who would also pimp out American Citizenship for 30 pieces of silver in the Sunday Collection Basket or the Monthly Tithing Envelope.
The only Institution where we don;t see ......HYPOCRACY....is our Military Service Men and Service Women. Thankfully, they still adher to the American Beliefs that our Founding Fathers promulgated in the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. Unfortunately, our Military Services have become tools of the Administration and have gone over-board in Social Engineering the Military. Let's hope that President Romney will clean out the Joint Chiefs of Staff and put in some Admirals and Generals who's first and only priority will be the "well-being" of our Military.

The irony of this letter hurts my head.
On one hand, she says "Romney's not responsible for what Trump says" and on the other, with the call for Obama to return the money, she insinuates Obama is responsible for what Maher says.
Talk about hypocritical!

I am reading about the Civil War again, some say 700,000 dead if we don't get our heads out of our back sides, we are going to destroy this country.

Unintentional irony (especially about hypocrisy) is hilarious.
Thanks for the laugh Amy.
Oh, and Leon? What the heck does "HYPOCRACY" mean?
There's an entry in Urban Dictionary for it... *cough*

What's hypocritical about Maher's contributions? Certainly he's not going to make a dime's worth of contribution to Romney!

The Liberals love to play their blame game. Calling Conservative's racist, and women haters, at the same time they did their best to destroy Herman Cain, Sarah Palin and Michele Bachmann just to name a few. Liberals remind me of the kid in elementary school that farts and blames you. You know he stinks and he knows it, he's just hoping he can con the other kids into believing it's not him!

What is hypocritical is when one accuses his opposition of waging a "war on women", claiming that only he cares about their issues. All this while he accepts contributions from a person who expressively hates the "goodness of the fairer sex".
I agree that the candidate is not beholden to, or responsible for, the views of his supporters. But realize that whatever the supporters espouse indicates which way the candidate will lean after being elected. Make your choice wisely!

@MikeMcCellon...Romney has gone on the record as believing Obama was born here. As surrogates for the white house press office members of the liberal media wants to get Romney on tape, repeatedly reiterating this, but he won't, or shouldn't, Mitt's great at staying on message. He isn't going to get tricked into becoming BHO's defender. THAT would be disingenuous. Obama's Maher problem is it was Obama firing the first salvo's on the fictitious War on Women. He, and many of the left have been hypocritical many times in their views on women, which go way beyond the scope of this little chatfest
Amy posted at 12:35 pm on Fri, Jun 8, 2012.
But Maher's contribution is not hypocritical, Obama's acceptance of it is due to Maher's repeated, disgusting remarks on conservative women. and to the first guy, LOVE Ann Coulter, but she didn't invent the word misogyny. But feel free to bust me if you catch me using the word Hirsute.
