“Nice try with the article headline, 'Public split on illegals enforcement,’ (Tribune, Tuesday), and the total of the poll is 58 percent for, 32 percent not in favor and 10 percent undecided. Sounds like almost a 2-1 to margin there, people.”

“How does the Tribune make the front (page) claim that there are deep divisions on local police enforcement of illegal immigration laws? According to your statistics, Republicans, Democrats and Independents all believe they should, and the difference is less than 22 percent. They probably agree on this issue more than any other.”

“It’s split all right — Illegals vs. others.”

“So a Mormon church starts on fire in the early morning hours of (Nov.) 19. The investigation starts on the 25th and ends on the 26th because of a holiday on the 22nd. Something about this tells me it won’t be that thorough of an investigation.”

“To the venter (Tuesday) who thinks Black Friday shoppers are dumb fish. I headed out at 3 a.m. with a list of 14 items I wanted to purchase, to include a TV and other electronics. I got 11 items and saved over $900, was home by 10 a.m. Do you really think you’re the smart one?”

“At the Capitol (Monday) when lighting the Christmas tree, the governor said 'we call this the holiday tree.’ Does she refer to the menorah as the holiday candelabra?”

“I could get any of these presidential yahoos elected president. Americans want to hear one thing this election and that is 'rein in spending,’ period.”

“They’ve already tried replacing copper wiring with aluminum. Unfortunately, it causes fires.”

“I was calling to respond about the incident with the 13-year-old boy and the little laser light. Come on now, people. The city of Phoenix doesn’t have enough crime that we have to arrest 13-year-old kids playing with laser light in the back yard?”

“This is in response to Rep. Henry Mitchell  …  'We deserve to be safe.’ (Well Said, Opinion, Tuesday). Well, Mr. Mitchell, since 9/11, we have not been attacked on our soil. We are safe. I feel much safer now than I did before.”

“Oprah Winfrey is backing Barack Obama for president. Is it because she really believes a one-time senator is qualified, or is it because he is black?”

“I’m the lady who called in about the flat tire. When the man from Yugoslavia came to fix it, he fixed my American Chevrolet car. So there!”

“How can this war-making president possibly bring peace to the Middle East?”

“God didn’t make homosexuals. God made man, and then gave us the freedom to do what we want. That’s why there are homosexuals. With the analogy that this person in the paper has (Vent, Monday), that would say that God made murderers, rapists and everything else. No, God made man. What they did after that is up to them.”

“Elementary school teachers are required to be highly qualified in every subject they teach.”
