I simply have to do more than chuckle after reading Jon Beydler’s column on legalizing marijuana (July 16).
So basically, Mr. Beydler is proposing that the solution to solving the human’s craving to a substance that is not only fundamentally wrong, but also can kill you, is to legalize it. To be honest with you, I haven’t seen that solution stopping human beings from drinking too much, driving drunk and causing harm and fatality to their fellow human beings.
Legalizing a wrong thing is NOT going to make it right. When something is fundamentally wrong, legalizing it is not going to make it all better for us. It is only giving you a justification for doing the wrong thing.
