The audit of the Arizona State Parks system came as no surprise to those of us who have served as board members, long time staff and hardworking foundation volunteers.
Thanks to the Brewer administration with help from the Republican-controlled Legislature, the state parks systems has been robbed of revenues, deprived of voter-approved designated Heritage Fund monies and limited in their ability to raise revenues to offset expenses.
The staff of Arizona State Parks have been hard-working and dedicated to the preservation and improvements required for these treasures. In my experience working with these professionals, I have seen folks who don’t know what a 40-hour work week is all about. To those who worked at the parks it has always been a 24/7 dedication.
It is time for Gov. Brewer to change her approach of destroying state government and ensure that funds are reinstated and that necessary legislation is passed to give Arizona State Parks the tools they need to do the job that they are dedicated to perform.

I know, I mean it would be nice to have Janet Napaletano back to "fix" everything. She was just so smart and Democrat. She didn't care how much something would costs, she would do it anyway. It's a shame she is now "protecting" our skys and borders. I am kidding.

You want to talk about paying off campaign donors and getting you buddies into your administration? Let's talk about Pres. Obama, Solyndra, Justices Sotomayor and Kagan, and all Baracks czars and czardines!!!

wdgnas anf bubba, you are both right. When Brewer steals their money and removes the opportunity to generate revenue, she makes it ripe for privatization. Taking away the boards authority to hire and then putting her unqualified lackey in charge will certainly lead to a "doin a heck of a job Brownie" moment. And depriving future generations out of a park system. That witch really needs to go.

Brewer's appointment of the unqaulilfied Bryan Martyn is reminicent of Bush and his pal "Brownie". Another "Doin' a heck of a job" moment.... http://azcapitoltimes.com/news/2012/05/10/newly-named-state-parks-chief-comes-under-scrutiny/

the whole idea is to run the parks into the ground so only a private company, err campaign donor, will be able to 'rescue' them.
