Our economy is recovering under Obama’s leadership despite the worst worldwide recession in our lifetime.

The Dow Industrial was at 6646.94 in 2009 when the stimulus was passed. Today the Dow is at 13306.

Unemployment was at 9.9 percent in 2009 today it is at 8.1 percent. The Euro Zone on the other hand was at 9.8 percent in

2009 and now is at 11.3 percent.

The inflation rate in the US was 2.7 percent in 2009 and now is 1.4 percent a 48 percent reduction in our rate of inflation. The Euro Zone was 0.9 percent in 2009 and is now 2.4 percent. Germany was 0.8 percent in 2009 and is now at 2 percent.

All major economists recommended deficit spending to get us out of the recession, some criticized Obama for not spending enough.

Finally, the downgrading of our country’s bond rating was not because of Obama. In a written report the rating agency stated that it was primarily because of the GOP’s failure to compromise on revenue increases.

Despite the fact that we were at the epicenter of the recession we are doing better than most other countries. We definitely should not return to the policies that created the mess Obama inherited.

Republicans always feel the need to defend their people under any circumstance. They want to ingore the Bush years, the wars, the Wall Street mess, the housing bubble, medicare part D and the useless tax cuts for the wealthy. They refuse to accept the fact that Romney is a phony, an elitiest who only cares about a small percentage of the population. Ignore the fact that Obama has had to deal with an extremely partisan congress, who made up their minds to make Obama fail, prior to the stimulus and before Obama care was past.

Finally they continue to ignore that Obama understands the economy better than they give him credit for.

People have woke up in this country and see that Obama isn't this bad awful guy. Regardless of how strong the republicans want to convice us otherwise.

This election isn't that Obama's policies are not working, It is about class and demographics. Are we one country or two? Americans need to understand that how deep your pockets are and what you do for a living should never measure your standing as an American citizen.

Have you people forgotten that Obama promised to cut the deficit in half? Now it's at $16 trillion.

Or what about the promise that the unemployment rate wouldn't go above 8 % if we passed his "spendulus" bill? Whoops! He passed it, and now it's hovering around 8.1%. It's actually much higher than that, if you count in the people that have given up looking for work, or if you also count the underemployed. It's around 16% if you count those folks.

And let's not forget, Obama had the majority of both houses for two years, he got everything he wanted passed, and what did we get? $6 trillion in new Obama debt.

Four more years of Obama? I hope not! We cannot afford it!

    Robert,
What you fail to mention in your letter is that the Obama policies you praise him for are the same policies that are destroying the European countries. Tax the rich, big government deficit spending, crippling environmental rules, bigger social welfare programs and huge government debt are the cornerstones of Obama's policies. It will take us exactly 4 more years of Obama's policies to equal the European decline. Romney is right, the 47% that pay no federal income tax will continue to vote for more and more from a government that is giving away more and more dependency.

mrconservative ... how conveniently you ignore the fact that Bush the Greater also promised to cut the deficit in half == but he DOUBLED IT. And started a war.

You also forget that Bush the Lesser ALSO promised to cut the deficit == but HE QUADRUPLED IT. And started two wars.

Looks like you have a very very selective memory.

chatty ... what the Federal Government pay out to poor people on Welfare and other social services is a drop in the bucket compared to the amount of Corporate Welfare.
Just the subsidies to the very profitable oil companies alone are probably more than the entire bill for all social programs.

Good point mrconservative… On how President Obama's economic policies are not working. How sluggish economy remains and the how job market shows no substantial improvement.

While Obama is saying the economy's making progress and coming back, Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke announced plans to spend $40 billion a month to help boost the weak economy. In other words, saying they’ve gotta "print more money".

"All major economist say to fix the economy with deficit spending", that is like saying that all major scientists agree that there is global warming. These are statements issued from the left and only resonate with the left. The rest of us dismiss this as non facts. The headline here should read, economy recovering (sort of) despite President Obama.

    Hey, Folks....here is your choice:

Obama = has been flying around the Country since day one = spends 2 days behind his Presidential Desk in the Oval Office.
Romney = will be behind the Presidential Desk 90% of the time in the Oval Office(his mother-in-law won't be living in the White House....lol).

Obama = refused to show respect for the Flag, National Anthem or Pledge of Alligiance before he became President.
Romney = respects the Flag, knows the Pledge of Alligiance by heart and sings the National Anthem (a few skipped words...whatever.... but have you ever heard Obama sing the National Anthem...the American National Anthem that is......[wink]).

Mrs. Romney has ...."ALWAYS"...been proud to be an American, every single day of her life.
Mrs. Obama was ...."ASHAMED TO BE AN AMERICAN FOR MOST OF HER ADULT LIFE" (you can see her saying this not to one Democrat political group..but to two groups in 2008 at Madison, Wiconsin...on YouTube if you don't believe me).

    SO FOLKS YOU HAVE A CHOICE;

    A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE WHO......."PRAISES"....AMERICA = MITT ROMNEY

    OR

A DEMOCRAT CANDIDATE WHO ........"APOLOGIZES FOR"....AMERICA = BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA

    IT'S YOUR CHOICE !!!!!!!!!!

The DOW was at 14,000 under Bush and its still stuck there. The U6 unemployment rate is nearly 18%. The inflation rate is a result of Fed's policy's, not the POTUS. Bond rating downgrades are a result of an unmanageable budget deficit, not the lack of tax increases. GDP is a paltry 2.1-2.3% average, a far cry from any real sustained economic growth. Our debt to equity ratio is 104% and climbing. 16 trillion national and 100trillion in unfunded liabilities. How can any reasonable person call this sound economic policy?

"that is like saying that all major scientists agree that there is global warming."

Um, they do. Global climate change is a fact - not an opinion, not a belief, a fact.
The only people who actually deny this also claim the earth is 6,000 years old and that humans and dinosaurs lived together.

(I think you meant to say "global warming caused by industry")

No, global warming. Didn't I already blow this liberal myth before. There is a list of actual "credible" scientist that dispute the myth of global warming as caused by man. Remember? And that is correct, Global climate change is a fact, it was a little hotter yetsreday, little cooler today. Tomorrow may also be cooler or hotter. Remember that thing called the ice age, the earth got warmer then too- right?

k33j88, you may have gotten a bit too close to the bone for this crew. You have to remember, everything good is becuase President Obama is here, everything bad is becuase of some Republican and the fact that rich people don't "pay their fair share"- whatever that means.

Which one of these promises has Obama kept?
“I promise 100% transparency in my administration.”.
“I promise NO NEW TAXES on a family making less than $250K a year.”.
“I will allow 5 days of public comment before I sign any bills.”.
“I will remove earmarks from PORK projects before I sign any bill.”.
“I will end Income Tax for seniors making less than $50K a year.”.
"I will bring ALL of our troops home within ONE year."
“I’ll put the Health Care negotiations on CSPAN so everyone can see who is at the table!”.
“I’ll have no lobbyists in my administration."
    "I'll close Guantanamo."
"I'll resign if I don't cut the deficit in half by the end of four years."
"I'll unite the people of this great country."
If he didn't keep these knowing he would have to get reelected, what makes you think he will keep new promises not worried about reelection?

Robert Ricker's stats are those coming from the government itself. As anyone who has been awake and watching for awhile, the government always skews stats to reflect best upon itself rather than presenting the unvarnished truth. One example: Ricker's unemployment stats conveniently ignore the millions of people who have dropped out of the workforce because they cannot find a job and no longer qualify for unemployment benefits, and also ignore the millions who are working part time who normally would be working full time. Just adding these two groups to the government's stats would boost the true unemployment rate to over 13% plus another 6-8% underemployed. Check out John Williams' "ShadowStatistics" if you want the true picture.
