Meditation is without a doubt, an alternative way to make your life more vivacious than to constantly discourage yourself about getting back in shape; however there are misconceptions about this “Ommmm”technique. For example, meditation does not solely include the people that meet the criteria of a vegetarian, a religious person or, someone in a cult. That is just preposterous! “Meditation is a practice of calm, focused thinking and attention that is available to and effective for, everyone” (Sarma).
According to Michelle Currie’s article “Top of Mind”, meditation not only improves your body but it also improves your mood.
Meditation boosts your body by lowering hypertension, changing and lowering your pain perception. Also, evidence shows the increase of melatonin and serotonin in the blood, which are both associated with the immune system and aging.
Feeling and looking young is like killing two birds and one stone when committing to this simple exercise; and look at the bright side— no time consuming activities!
Improving your mood can make your day go by easier, especially if you are constantly being overworked to death because one is stacked with upcoming tight deadlines.
Meditation is the key. “Because of its mood-regulating effect, it is often recommended by psychologists and doctors to alleviate depression and anxiety” (Currie). It is known to make your quality of life and sleep much, much better.
Overall, if time consuming exercises are too much for you, then try meditation! It will only take ten minutes of your time—tops!
