Wait, didn't the big local newspaper just have a story about how inhuman Sheriff Joe's tent city was for making the prisoners stay out in the heat. Does than mean we should treat ourselves just as inhumanly by turning off our a/c. I still wonder how our ancestors survived the heat before a/c was invented.

Interesting point, chat. In my view, the inmates should be made as miserable as possible, so that when they are eventually released, they will make every effort not to come back. They should not be allowed to have a good life in jail. It's for punishment, after all.
