“Am I better off now than 4 years ago? Absolutely! I sold off a large portion of my investments the last year and a half of the Bush administration out of fear. The last 3 years under Obama I’ve more than gained it back. However I’m still in fear of the GOP passing laws against dancing in the streets.”
“So, Obama would rather be on some stupid talk show than meet with Netanyahu, our biggest ally in the Middle East? What a disgrace!”
“As chance would have it, while surfing the channels this afternoon I had the misfortune of tuning into ‘Toddlers & Tiaras,’ TLC. I thought we were trying to curb child-abuse in America. What the parents are doing with those children is nothing less than abusive perversion. Young children are being forced to act out what their psychotic parents (mothers) could never achieve. Is it any wonder the children too are ‘head-cases’ by the time they’re teens and, even more disturbing, fair fodder for the perverts of the world?”
“We need a constitutional amendment against bullying, which is a hate crime, especially via Facebook and Twitter.”
“If Obama had an ‘R’ behind his name, the obviously biased news media would have run him out of town, but since he has a ‘D’ everything is hunky dory!”
“I know how to end all wars. Send all the politicians. Get them off their butts and let them do the fighting. Bring back all the troops from Afghanistan. Enough is enough. What do you want to bet that would not happen? Let’s start a petition to have this happen. We could call this the ‘Politicians’ War.’”
“For all you Obama fans, answer these simple questions: Why is Obama afraid to ever use the term ‘Muslim terrorists?’ Why won’t he say, the ‘War on Terror?’ Why do they love to talk about the ‘War on Women?’ You’ve got to feel stupid voting for this joker again! God bless America. We’re going to need it.”

"Of the four people that offer you those four gifts right before you make that jump, which one will hold the most credibility in your eyes?"
Well, since all four are based on silly superstitious nonsense, NONE of them.
You've just picked the one that sounds most comfortable to you...you couldn't care less about whether it's actually true or not. You believe, because you want to believe, because you want to believe. Which is a poor justification for believing something.

You you what is REALLY amazing?
That Mormon would disparge those who don't consider him to be a Christian...and then in the VERY NEXT SENTENCE spew lies and false claims about adherents of other religions.
Hypocrisy, thy name is mrconservative.

"So why is Christianity so unique? Because it it the Son of God - Jesus Christ - that gave His own life for us; He provides the “parachute” for us.":
Now you are just being willfully ignorant. Pan, Balder, Horus, Osiris, Mithra...all of these "man/gods born of a virgin" have the same attributes...which means they are not unique.
So, not one feature unique to Christianity?
Nice diatribe, but it does nothing to support your claim.
And you got all the information from Kirk the Kook Crocoduck Man, which explains why it's full of lies and errors.
Speaking of lies, ready to come clean yet that there isn't any scientific evidence for the existence of spirits? Or are you going to continue lying about it?
mrconservative posted at 8:19 pm on Wed, Sep 19, 2012.
I find it quite puzzling that many people don't consider us to be Christians. WE are the olny church in the world (that I know of) that has the FULL name of Jesus Christ in our title: The Church of JESUS CHRIST of Latter-day Saints.
It might be because we believe that God, His son Jesus Christ, and the Joly Ghost are three seperate individuals, while other Christians think they are the same person.
And EV, if you really want to know why Christianity is unique, I'll tell you. Here are the other three in a nutshell. I'll use my airplane analogy.
1 - Hinduism
This religion says that if you've been bad, you may come back as a rat, while if you've been good, you might come back as a prince. That's like jumping out of the plane and believeing taht you'll get sucked back in as aother passenger. There is no real evience to prove the "reincarnation" nonsense that this religion teaches.
2 - Buddism
Amazingly, there are some forms of Buddism taht deny that God exists. THey think that life and death are some sort of illusion. That's like standing at the edge of the plane and saying, "I'm not really here, and there’s no law of gravity, and no ground that I’m going to hit."
3 - Islam
This religion basically says that if your good deeds outnumber your bad ones, you'll be saved. That's like flapping your arms after jumping out of the plane andbelieving you can overcome the law of gravity and save yourself from a 10,000 foot drop.
So why is Christianity so unique? Because it it the Son of God - Jesus Christ - that gave His own life for us; He provides the “parachute” for us. Just as a parachute solves your dilemma with the law of gravity and its consequences, so the Savior perfectly solves your dilemma with the Law of God and its consequences!
Of the four people that offer you those four gifts right before you make that jump, which one will hold the most credibility in your eyes?
Repeat to yourself these words (they should sound familiar):
"I once was blind, but now I see".
[smile] Have a nice try trying to counter all that. I literally got it all from Kirk Cameron’s book, “Still Growing”. And you cannot blame me for being honest this time. Nor can you accuse me of lying.
I suggest you read it, before you dismiss him as a nutjob.
"Do you know where liars go? They go straight down . . . . "
(Bill Cosby CD, "To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With")
I believe that was the title. It's pretty funny, actually.

It also bears mentioning that many sects of mainstream Christianity don't even conisder Mormons to be Christians.
Not that I agree, I just find it humorous.

"But Christianity is very unique."
LOL!!! In what way? Please name one way that Christianity is unique from any other religion - this means don't use virgin births, or December 25, or crucifictions/resurrections, or Redeemers, or Saviors as examples.
Just one example unique to Christianity will do...good luck!

"And I was only guessing when I said there may be twice as many Christians than Muslims. I honestly don't know. "
Then why were you asking people to TAKE YOUR WORD FOR IT if you were only guessing? That's quite dishonest.
Your analogy is as assinine as your claims...specious and nothing to back them up.

I heard it from my mom, who heard it on the news. She often goes to the gym early in the morning, and she watches part of it. I don't know what station it was, but one thing is for sure: She NEVER lies. NEVER.
There may be 400 religions, EV, but many of them are Christioan churches. I'm talking about the main five. The biggest ones.
And I was only guessing when I said there may be twice as many Christians than Muslims. I honestly don't know. But Christianity is very unique.
Let me make an analogy.
Let's say I offered you four gifts:
1. The original Mona Lisa
2. The keys to a brand-new Lambourghini
3. $10 million in cash
4. a parachute
You can only pick one. WHich will you choose? Before you decide, let me give you some information that will help you make the right choice: You have to jump 10,000 feet out of an airplane.
That should make it pretty obvious which one has the most use.

I also agree with Engaged Voter and mrconservative . . That the attack was planned and “had nothing to do with the movie."
It’s the Obama administration's that claims the assault in Libya grew out of a "spontaneous" protest against an anti-Islam film.
And, this week, it’s Sheik Hassan Nasrallah that’s indicative of and angry over an anti-Islamic film. And he is calling for more demonstrations to continue through-out the Middle-East.
One day before the attack in Libya, that left U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens and three others dead at the storming of the embassy, an al Qaeda leader Ayman al- Zawahiri (in Libya) released a tape calling for vengeance and calling for jihadists to rise up against Americans over the recent killing of a high-ranking al Qaeda official . . . Not a protest against an anti-Islam film.
On taking office, Obama promised to usher in a new era of popularity in the Middle-East region. But now are we more popular there than we were four years ago?
Embassies around the world remain on high alert as the anti-American protests continue in at least eight countries. Our nation must protect its citizens in the Middle-East.

Perhaps there are 1.6 billion Muslims. I won't doubt your word My Take, but will you doubt my word when I say there are (probably) over twice that many Christians? There's only five MAJOR religions in this world - Christianity, Judiasm, Hinduism, Buddism, and Islam. As far as I know, that's it. All the religions are based on those five. There's also that Socialaoigythingywhateveritscalled. But I think that's some form of Christian. There's also the Quakers, though I'm not sure where they fit in. There are many religions, but those five are the biggest ones.
It was no coincidence, EV. For once, we actually agree on something. That attack was planned for months. The video had nothing to do with it.
(By the way, it was a stupid video. Bad acting, and everything else in between. No, I never saw it - nor will I ever. It was a stupid idea. The video was just used as an excuse for the killings.
You know what Obama said when he was told? Something like, "Okay. I'm going to bed." Does that show that he really cares? Not to me.
Re Vent #2 - I believe the "stupid talk show" was David Letterman, which I've never watched. He does not come across to me as very funny. I have heard excerpts from him, but I never saw much humor in his jokes. And I have a pretty big sense of humor.
Engaged Voter posted at 5:56 pm on Mon, Sep 17, 2012.
Accuracy, please explain why you buy the lame excuse of that silly 15 minute video for the embassy violence. Include any evidence you may have, since the media has not.
The FACT is that this silly video was out for almost TWO MONTHS before these "protests" began...and they began on 9/11...coincidence? I don't think so!

VENT 2: “So, Obama would rather be on some stupid talk show than meet with Netanyahu, our biggest ally in the Middle East? What a disgrace!”
Israel is our best ally in the Middle-East, but treated with indifference bordering on contempt by President Barack Hussein Obama.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu blasted those who think a military strike against Iran would be worse than allowing them to acquire nuclear weapons, saying they set a “new standard for human stupidity.”
While in the overseas Muslim world, Americans are being evacuated from U.S. missions as anti-American protests continues by Hezbollah's Hassan Nasrallah, al Qaeda leader Ayman al- Zawahiri, and tens of thousands of Hezbollah supporters, over a low budget anti-Islam film "Innocence of Muslims" produced in the United Sates that mocks the Islamic prophet Muhammad.
Despite Obama’s recent apologies, projection of blame, and reluctant statements of damage control.

My Take, Romney is a huge hypocrite. He required the people who wanted to be his VP to give him 10 years of their tax returns, but he will only show one of his.
He is hiding something. Too bad McCain won't tell us what it was that he saw in Romney's tax returns that made him drop Romney from consideration for his VP.
You notice, McCain has NOT endorsed Romney this time either ( to the best of my knowledge ).

"Perhaps you meant thousands"
No, mrconservative, BILLIONS. I know you religious types have a problem with the word BILLIONS, especially when you believe the earth is 6,000 years old.
But the FACT remains; there are approximately 1.6 BILLION Muslims worldwide.
And that number is growing.

First Romney should submit 10 years of his tax returns, heck even Ryan did. If Romney has nothing to hide then why not release them? If he wants to be President, then he needs to be forthwright and honest. Why would someone who wants to be President and says he loves this country so much have offshore accounts? Doesn't sit well with many people. He should honor our tax system not run from it. Bush was insulted regarding his policies, not him as a man or his family. The insults if any came from the general public, not democratic leaders. That is the difference now. Democratic leaders still treated him with respect, they new where the line was drawn. Republicans in congress show absolutely no respect for Obama. The "you lie" comment from Joe Wilson, the finger pointing from Jan Brewer, all this birther nonsense. No way can you say that it was the same. Releasing college papers is an insult which only proves my point. He graduated from Harvard get over it. Last point the Muslim religion is bigger and more widespread than you think.

My Take, about your comment on Vent #5, Riiiiight! And the liberal media never insulted Bush for eight years! Why should Romney release his tax returns? He's not requred to by law. And unless Obama releases his college papers , no one should demand that Romeny release his returns. And you are not being accurate when you say "billions" practice Muslim religion, because I doubt there's even a billion Muslims on Earth. After all, we have about 7 billion now. Perhaps you meant thousands, which is far more accurate, but definitely not billions.

Vent #1 Obama isn't trying to take away your stuff. Not sure where you come to that conclusion. Things are better than 4 years ago. Are you honestly making the case that September of 2007 was better, most people would disagree.
Vent #2. To call him Messiah is to think that Bush was Lucifer. I would agree to that.
Forget #3 and #4!
Vent #5 There has been lots of vetting on Obama! The right wing media has been insulting him and trying so hard to trip him up since he came into office. Everything he does and says is met with scrutiny. The problem for Republicans is they have exposed themselves as being just a hate group. Romney a guy who refuses to give up 10 years of tax returns, spends all his time ripping Obama but won't tell us what his plan is. A constant flip-flopper who instead of leading his party..he lets the tea party lead him. He needs to be vetted more...alot more!
Also he doesn't say Muslim terrorists because that wouldn't be a fair label. It would offend the billions of people who practice the Muslim religion the right way. The religion doesn't promote terrorism.
War on Terror is a Republican term. It is just generalizing and doesn't makes sense anyway.

Vent #2: This type of non-leadership is nothing new for Obama, he just isn't the messiah that so many thought.
Vent #3: I think you got it right, it's the parents that are reliving a dream instead of the children. Maybe one or two of a hundred are naturals for this pageantry. Now this Honey Bo Bo is even worse.
Vent #4: No No No on a constitutional amendment on bullying. Instead. how about a Balanced Budget Amendment, a Term Limits Amendment, a Line Item Veto. Now these are the kind of amendments we need.
Vent #5: You are right, where was the vetting of Obama by the media. Where are the tough questions about his policy failures? Why not hold him to the same standards they hold the republicans.
Vent #6: There is a political war going on right now. The D's and R's are throwing lead at each other left and right, pun intended. It's too bad that most of the 4th estate has taken sides and is helping one party. Our news is tainted with this bias and gives one party a big advantage.
Vent #7: Obama from day one has done his best not to offend and to placate the radicals of Islam whenever and wherever he can, much to the determent of our foreign policy.
