" Tribune headline: ‘White nationalist party pushing candidate for Mesa council.' In a city that would elect the likes of J.T. Ready and Russell Pearce to office, I've no doubt he'll do smashingly!"

"This summer I met four people who were extremely friendly and cordial. On our third meeting they informed me they were members of the tea party and we had to discuss politics. I told them I did not want to talk politics. The first thing they said was, ‘Obama is a Muslim and was going to kill us all.' They were also birthers and said they had proof Obama was not born in the United States. I informed them the Republican party in 2012 would be spending about $1 billion to defeat Obama and if they had proof they should send this information to the Republican Party so they could save that money. After an hour of discussing politics, their response was, ‘You have to forget statistics and facts and you have to go beyond Bush and if I did not like it I should leave the country.' "

"And another vent whining about the ‘rich' not paying their ‘fair share' of taxes. Please explain to me how the top 10 percent of the population paying 90 percent of the income taxes in this country aren't paying their ‘fair share.' I'd really like to see your math."
—
"Why are Americans hurting, with 10 percent unemployment, 90 percent underpaid? U.S. salaries are at a 50-year low; at the same time, major corporations' profits have risen 13 percent. Corporate thinking is, if Americans don't like it, there are 2 billion Asians waiting to take your job."
—
"If the people of these United States do not get rid of the old senators and congressmen, then they are going to lose everything they own and cherish."
—
"What is with all the Arizona, United States Veteran license plates slapped onto all these Japanese-, German- and Korean-made cars? I have always supported our country's troops and our country's veterans. How come they don't support their country, their country's economy and workers by buying American cars to proudly slap their USA Veterans license plate on?"

First Venter:
Do doubt he will.
Second Venter:
‘You have to forget statistics and facts and you have to go beyond Bush and if I did not like it I should leave the country.' Yes, when reality does not please some, fantacy is all that's left!
Third Venter:
Ask Warren Buffett. His math is beyond question. He paid less than 18% of his income to taxes. And at that rate, his staff paid more than he did. We are talking percentages here. If all income was limited to the top 0.00001 percent of the population such that 100% of income taxes paid were paid by that top 0.00001, would you still question fairness? Or would you say that the rest of us, you included, the bottom 99.99999 of us, were enjoying a free ride?
Fourth Venter:
Did you catch U-Mass/Amherst Econ Professor Richard Wolff's lecture on this topic. He has an explanation. Neither the Democrats, nor the Republicans, nor big business will dig us out of our mess. We, meaning you and I, have to dig ourselves out!
Fifth Venter:
"old senators and congressmen" never die. They just smell that way!
Sixth Venter:
Maybe those Veterans are over paid? Let's get out of Iraq, Afghanistan and stay out of Iran, etc. now and forever! Apparently we are neither needed nor wanted there and our Veterans know it!
