Pastor Richard Wilson: Let’s commit ourselves to God's will and way in 2010.

I filled the void of emptiness with a masterpiece design. A world was created in the existence of time. I called for light, and darkness was no more. Land raised up, and the seas flowed with the tide – and the fish and fowl of the air soon followed behind. Every living creature I molded and shaped into existence. Then came man and woman made in My image, and I breathed my spirit and life into them…Who am I?

I was born in a lowly manger, fulfilling a prophecy to save mankind. I was a teacher, friend, and Savior to those that chose to hear my voice and follow. I was persecuted, rejected, and sold out – to die a painful death on Calvary. The pain and ridicule endured was not for My sake, but for those to come I could give eternal life…Who am I?

Pastor Richard Wilson

I rose from the grave and conquered death and hell. The keys I left to My good friend Peter, you can find them in the book of Acts in his sermon (chapter 2 and verses 36-40) I departed from this earth in body, and sent the Comforter to be with you instead – for you know My Promise is to return again and take My children to their prepared home in the sky…Who am I?

Matthew chapter 16 states the following: “13. When Jesus came into the region of Caesarea Philippi, He asked His disciples, saying, "Who do men say that I, am?'' 14. So they said, "Some say John the Baptist, some Elijah, and others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.'' 15. He said to them, "But who do you say that I am?'' 16. And Simon Peter answered and said, "You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.'' 17. Jesus answered and said to him, "Blessed are you, Simon Bar-Jonah, for flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but My Father who is in heaven. 18. "And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church, and the gates of Hades shall not prevail against it. 19. "And I will give you the keys of the kingdom of heaven, and whatever you bind on earth will be bound in heaven, and whatever you loose on earth will be loosed in heaven.'' 20. Then He commanded His disciples that they should tell no one that He was Jesus the Christ.”

So who do you say that He is? Have we taken the time in our busy life’s to really think about that question as the Apostle Peter did when he was asked the same question by Jesus, as we look at Peters reply we see that his answer did not come from those he knew nor did it come from his family members or even his friends. Peter’s answer was from his own personal experience and relationship with Jesus Christ that is why Jesus said flesh and blood did not reveal this but my Father who is in Heaven. You see when we really take the time to know Jesus for ourselves he will reveal who he is to us personally and there is nothing more exciting than knowing who Jesus is for your life?

There is an old song that says “Who am I that a King would bleed and die for? Who am I that He would say, “Not my will Thine for”? The answer I may never know, why He ever loved me so and to an old rugged cross He’d go for, who am I?” Just as the question is asked about who He is – we should look at ourselves and say, “Who are we?” “Who am I?” What made us so special, He did all of the above for us? I think if we really search within ourselves, we must admit that we are truly indebted to the Savior, Jesus Christ. There is none other like Him!

Who do you say that He is? Is He Lord over everything in your life? Let’s commit ourselves to his will and His way in 2010 and tell Him we want Him to reign over our lives completely!

Richard Wilson is pastor at Harvest Assembly Christian Church.
