"Rep. Weiner wants a leave of absence to go to a treatment facility. I didn't know there was a treatment facility for stupid."
—
"Is the East Valley Tribune sure that Fred Barlam of Ahwatukee, is not really an alias for Richard K. Meszar of Mesa! The letter in Wednesday's paper, in my opinion, is a dead giveaway."
—
"It was quite apparent that the NCAA/umpires did not want the ASU baseball team going to Omaha for the College World Series."
—
"Only in Mesa is it necessary to have the mayor and city council names on a sign, like the Lehi Crossing project. What did this cost us taxpayers? These people don't have a clue!"
—
"For all you anti-citizen's gun rights people: Look at Bosnia, Syria, Libya, Egypt and Yemen where the governments have or are slaughtering the defenseless citizenry. Tell me that kind of evil does not exist at the highest levels. Ask yourself, could that happen in the U.S.? Look at Iraq and Afghanistan and how our military is struggling and you have your answer."
—
"We can thank the environmentalist for the fires. They kicked and screamed to save the white owl, and for a short time the owls' home was secure. Now after 16 years of no logging and no clearing the forest floor, we have to ask where the real priority was. Should we now form a group to ‘save the humans?' What about their jobs, their homes, and our forest? Was the white owl really worth it? We will never again see the beautiful forest, for my generation and several to follow; the 100-year-old Ponderosas are gone. Isn't it time we stop this nonsense and bring back logging, and while we're at it, will the Rodeo fire damage ever be cleared? We've been looking at the charred remains for a decade now."

First Venter,
I was among the first on this paper's cite to observe that Tony Weiner was toast. I observed that his party would be obliged to dump him, but that if his wife stood by him and together they decided to ride it out, so be it. Apparently his constituents were behind him.
Now do you live in the parts of Queens or Brooklyn in his district such that you are a constitutent? No! Then what is your beef, grandma!
Second Venter;
Should you wish an answer to this question [and are not merely looking to sound off with brass and cymbals] try asking Bob Romantic. Or better yet, compose a letter to the editor or even still better yet a column and but yourself through the verification process which guarantees you are who you say your are! "Too much trouble," you say. Then clap your trap!
Third Venter:
I missed the game. Sure hope you are wrong!
Fourth Venter:
Where is that sign and what does it say? Details, details!
Fifth Venter:
You know, I thougth the citizens if Iraq and Afghanistan were armed!
Sixth Venter:
The owl suit prevented taking out the most mature pines where the owls nested, not the undergrowth. Owls existed harmoneously for millena in these pine forests, small fires coming through ever so often keeping down the undergrowth. Then the US Forest Service in all of its infinite wisdom decided to "prevent forest fires" of all kinds. Those clearing fires were stopped. The undergrowth grew to the point where a fire would crown into the old growth and now we have this problem. It was not the fault of environmentalists and their owl suit. It was the fault of the logging industry and the Forest Service. The logging industry wanted to clear cut, taking out the largest trees with the owls. And the Forest Service? Well, Smoky the Bear is morning our fires, too.

P.S. Second Venter:
On the screen soliciting letters to the editor we read:
"Please be brief (no more than 250 words) and submit your contact information for verification purposes."
Yes, 2nd Venter there is "a verification process!"
