Thanks to an excellent charter-school law, a private-school scholarship tax credit, and a renewed commitment by traditional public schools to excel, Arizona parents have many attractive educational options from which to choose.

But that can lead some well-intentioned parents to move their children from school to school in search of the ideal.

Let’s face it, parents need all the good information they can get before making this important decision. And being a strong proponent of educational choice for many years, the Tribune wants to help. That is why we’re proud to sponsor the first Tribune Education Expo! 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today at the East Valley Institute of Technology, 1601 W. Main St. in Mesa.

Dozens of schools of all types will be represented, ready to explain their programs and answer your questions. It’s an excellent opportunity to match your own expectations, along with your child’s interests and talents, with the right school. Because at the heart of school choice is the fact that each and every child is unique, and that no singe educational formula or institution is right for all children.

We sincerely hope you find what you’re looking for.
