Isn't it ironic that a past editor of the Scripps Howard News Service writes about the Attack on 9/11 and the Attack on Pearl Harbor but fails to mention the day in, day out... week in, week, out...month in, month out...year in and year out........"attack" on our Border with Mexico by millions of Illegal Aliens.

The writer mentions "waking a sleeping giant and filling it with a terrible resolve".....well, Mr. Thomasson, that is just what happened when America "woke up" about the Obama Administration and the Democrat House and Senate refusing to "protect the Border" as was called for in our Constitution.

The American "Sleeping Giant" became the ....Tea Party....and kicked out the Democrats in towns, cities, counties and States all across our Great Nation.

It's sad to see how far the Scripps Howard News Service has moved to the....."left-wing Liberal agenda".
Just look at the ......."pro-Illegal Alien" columns that we see here in the East Valley Tribune from the Scripps Howard News Service reporter........Jose de la Isla.

I have found De La Isla's columns rarely deal with illegal immigration.... or do you define "pro-illegal Alien" as anything with any cultural flavor whatsoever?

Pearl Harbor was followed up by an industrial and military mobilization, and the sacrifice of life styles by an entire nation. We bought war bonds. Afterwards, we elected Ike, who upon leaving office saw a military industrial complex and issued us his warning, "Beware."

9-11 was followed up with the envasion of Iraq, an action totally unrelated to 9-11 but not unrelated to Operation Desert Storm. Desert Storm laid the predicate for anger among fundamentalist Muslims who viewed the US as having no business expelling Sadam Hussein from Kuwait. That action ended when we violated a millenium old practice of allowing a defeated enemy to withdraw peacefully, proving to those fundamentalists that we truely were Infidels. Not knowing local religious morays and observing them has proven to have been disasterous.

Hopefully with the demise of Usama [or Osama] bin Laden, we will see an easing of tensions. The Arab Spring we are witnessing may prove to ease tensions with us and help focus the masses on their larger problems, freeing themselves from the repressive governments we have supported. And hopefully we shall not have another Hiroshima/Nagasaki, one where we do not drop the bombs.

But it is high time we stopped blaming others for the problems we helped create!

When the original Roosevelt Dam was completed in 1911 there was a dedication. At the dedication, Theodore collected a bottle of water from the river and had it taken to New York where it sat waiting for ship #39 to rise to completion. When the ship was ready in 1915 that bottle of Rio Salado water was broken on the bow along with some champagne and #39 was christened the USS Arizona. The significance, if any, is to illustrate what Dale Whiting points out, there is a longer and deeper history to every story.

I hear some proclaim that Ayman al-Zawhiri is worse than bin Laden, that we need to murder Mullah Omar as well. ‘Lets get em’ like sharks in flesh torn water.
Ok - - but when will we stop blaming others for problems we helped create?
