"Folks, I don't know about you, but when I see a photo of a dirty, exhausted, cigarette-smoking, profane language-using, sweaty, smelly, tattooed young Marine or GI on the TV, to me, he is closer to God than any clean-cut, well-dressed, well-spoken young man in a church, a ward, a temple, or a synagogue. ‘The Lord is a man of war and the Lord is his name' - Exodus 15:3."
"For all of you that mindlessly defend either the Republican or Democratic political parties, please consider this: Over the last 50 years or so all of our presidents and the vast majority of our senators and congress members have been either Republicans or Democrats. Over that same period, we, as a nation, have seen our country go deeper into debt. We have seen our money devalue, we have seen our sons and our daughters, along with millions of innocent people, die in wars or ‘police actions' that served no other purpose than to make the heads of major corporations rich beyond the wildest dreams of any of the rest of us. I guess my question is this: Republican or Democrat, what difference does it make?"
"Oh, come on, if Republicans only represented the top 1 percent they would never be elected to anything. It's more like the top 50 percent (those who pay taxes). Democrats are only elected by pandering to the bottom half (who pay no income tax and want the top half to support them through social services)."
"Since John McCain was re-elected in November 2010, he has neglected to answer any emails from his constituents. Now I know why. Yesterday in a stump speech for Romney, he proclaimed that ‘President Obama will turn this country around.' He is obviously too senile to answer emails. In comparison, Senator Jon Kyl is also in his final term as senator, and he answers all of my emails. McCain's endorsement of Romney is the kiss of death."
"I want to be the first to throw my full support and resources behind Mike Stauffer. We have to get rid of that camera hog Joe. You have my vote."
"Obama's ‘I have a dream' speech is of him as the party chairman succeeding Dmitry Medvedev after Obama has destroyed America and handed it over to Russia."
"If the venter unhappy about Obama's signing of the ‘indefinite detention' law would care to do some research, my research came up with John McCain as the co-author of that part of the bill."
"I can't stand the annoying Geico pig with the pinwheels. Why did they make another ad with it? I'm going to wear out the mute button on my remote!"
"Marijuana is a controlled substance - controlled by criminal gangs. Just like alcohol was when it was illegal."
"With this past week's announcements on the future use of our military, and in particular U.S. ground troops, the flawed doctrine of nation building - called by its author, General Petraeus, ‘counter-insurgency' - has been denounced and rejected. No more Iraqs and no more Afghanistans. And although dismissed in disgrace for speaking up in frustration over having to deal with the impacts on his troops from Nation Building, Stan McChrystal's doctrine of ‘counter-terrorism,' the one doctrine that did work in Iraq and Afghanistan, has been enshrined. Application of that doctrine got bin Laden! Thank you General McCrystal for speaking up when doing so was controversial. And thank you, President Obama, for listening."

Vent 2 you are 100% correct the only problem is convincing everyone else. The greatest enemies of the American people are corrupt corporations who have bought our court system, our political system and our news media,
This year the Democrats and the Republicans will each spend one billion dollars on the presidential election, none of the above are willing to forgo these dollars not for Country or for generatons that will follow. Look at the election so far full of lies and out of context statments. The news media will make billions and will do every thing to keep the fighting going. The news media can not be trusted to report the truth, or overlooking the truth.

truth,
Yet another topic on which we agree totally!
And yes, folks, I am Venter # 10. If any of you would like to read up on McChrystal's views, look up the July 8-22, 2010 issue of Rolling Stone Magazine where Stan vented his frustrations to a reporter. It's called "the Runaway General" but in the article Stan is doing no running away at all. Rather he's running to those dense headed managers who do not appreciate what impossible taste are being asked of troops in counter-insurgency. But, read all the way to the end! Stan's critics failed to do so and the best parts are near the end. McChrystal is the real hero of the past 10 years, he and his loyal troops who could make no sense of counter-insurgency doctrine on the ground where it counts.
As usual our civilian military leadership has proven itself incompetent at understanding what this modern almost [but not quite] all powerful force can do and what it just can't do. And all but Huntsman and Paul out of today's crop of Conservative candidates have yet to get this message. While Obama has finally caught on, my fear is that he will depend too much on drones and not enough on counter-terrorism ground troops. Drones can do much of the same damage to US reputation that counter-insurgency troops are doing.
Yes, Jon Huntsman and Ron Paul, it is time we end Nation Building in Afghanistan, revert to counter-terrorism tactics, and bring our troops home.

Yesterday in the wake of his New Hampshire victory, Mitt announced that he would cut spending to balance the federal budget and increase military spending to make our forces so strong that none would dare challenge it [us].
No Mitt, power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely. And where a people feel powerless, they naturally turn to terrorism and suicide acts. That you believe military might can become so powerful as to have none dare challenge it only exposes your naïveté or that of those whose support you seek, the latter being the more likely.
You have just lost any hope of winning any support from those level headed people who were listening to Ron Paul and your fifth cousin, Jon Huntsman.
