Mitt Romney would like the middle class to vote for him but, looking at his record, this would be a disaster for the middle class and all of America.
Not only does Romney have multiple houses, cars and boats and a $250 million fortune he built by swallowing companies and spitting them out — this proud plutocrat has used every possible conceivable trick to dodge taxes. The single tax return Romney has released is full of Byzantine and opaque tax shelters, including offshore investments in shell companies in Bermuda, a Swiss bank account, and a Cayman Islands account. Some how Romney also managed to squirrel as much as $102 million in a tax-protected IRA, using what tax experts say are legally questionable accounting tricks. Romney argues that he pays what the law requires and not a penny more, which in his case is 13.9 percent. But as most Americans struggle to pay their bills, they can’t evade taxes by hiding money in the Caymans or Bermuda. Romney is living proof of the Democrat campaign message: There are two sets of rules, one for the rich and powerful, and one for everybody else.
The world’s tax havens currently keep between $21 trillion and $32 trillion out of the world’s governments. This alone is threatening the world economy.
Congress has sent only 54 bills to President Obama so far this year, including 14 to rename post offices, nine to approve real estate transactions, and six to renew existing laws. That record puts the current Congress on track to hold one of the least productive sessions in recent times.
Could this be because Congress is hoping to destroy the American economy so they can win the next election?

There you are Enraged. I was beginning to worry you jumped off a bridge trying to prove to yourself that YOU really are God. I see how this works, you can't prove spirits DON'T exist so your going to try and SPIN IT back on me. I do like the part about ME being the one with the POSITIVE CLAIM, I agree with you on that point. I have never tried forcing MY beliefs on you, and you know it. If you want to worship yourself, (which appears to be the story in your case ) or anything else, it's your right. Your the one that has a DEEP hate for anyone or anything involving religion. As for me showing you proof that purple fairies do exist. Just hold your breath and stand in front of a mirror![beam]

"YOU have the right to believe as you want, but I have that SAME right."
Yep. But what you do NOT have is the right to force your Bronze Age misogynistic views on others.
All clear now? ;)

'lets see the scientific PROOF that spirits do not exist!"
Sure thing, toadrebel...just as soon as you provide proof that purples fairies from the 12 dimension do not exist.
In case you haven't figured it out yet (and from your comments it's obvious you have not), it's the person making the positive claim that has the burden of proof.
And on some level you KNOW this. Otherwise you'd be consistent and believe all sorts of things that can't be disproven (unicorns, dragons, green space aliens, etc.)
"If you want to believe you do not have a creator, but rather evolved "
It's not a belief, it's a fact backed by evidence. Try a Biology class for pete's sake!
Kids, this is why you should stay in school.

Hmmm. He did send in his taxes to the IRS right? The IRS does audit people they think have cheated the system- right? So the IRS doesn't think that Romney cheated, but all of the people who have nowhere near the sense of correct tax treatments have condemned Romney with fruadulating his taxes. Seems logical to me.

OK Enraged lets see the scientific PROOF that spirits do not exist!
You Liberals scream all religious people are trying to force their beliefs off on you, and how that's wrong, yet you do the very same thing by attacking anyone that believes differently then you. If you want to believe you do not have a creator, but rather evolved from sea algae, then enjoy your family tree. YOU have the right to believe as you want, but I have that SAME right. Why do you feel it's necessary to belittle anyone with a different belief constantly ?

Sorry fae, but chatmandu seems to have adopted the same tactics as mrconservative...flee like a kicked dog when asked to support claims made.
Still waiting for the scientific proof of spirits mrconservative claimed to have. LOL

Where's the budget Harry??? We know who got most of the stimulus... it was Chris Matthews at BSNBC every time Obama says something. LOL

Hey Willie, Engaged!
Has anyone seen Chatmandu?
I'm still waiting for his response to my query on Romney's taxes....

The Democratic Party is being taken over by a bunch of radical elitists that want to destroy this country. You think I’m kidding? I wish I was.

I noticed that Barbara didn't mention Obama has raised our debt by 6 trillion dollars in under four years, more than what Bush did in eight years. Very interesting . . . .

Sorry Chat, but Willie knows Romney wouldn't hide those tax returns at significant political cost if there was nothing to hide. And we have not heard McCain, who has seen those returns, come to Romney's defense. Hmmmm....
I am reminded of the 'tax amnesty' offer that was extended a few years back to folks in Romney's income bracket. Most of us didn't pay much attention to it since we were not affected but it went like this - for those stashing millions/billions in off-shore accounts to avoid taxation the Feds would drop the felony charges associated with the crime if they just brought the funds back to the US and paid all taxes due.
I think Americans would like to know if they are being asked to cast their ballot for a would-be felon, if that is the case. Nothing petty about it.
And in the spirit of the Chatmandu mantra ......wait for it.....
"Enforce all the laws all the time" you would support sending Romney not to the White House but to prison!
I await your attempt to backpedal Chatmandu.......

Willie,
You are sounding like Barbara, a little petty and desperate.

Romney was the front runner to be McCain's VP nominee --- until McCain saw Romney's tax returns and then McCain immediately dropped Romney from his ticket.
And now Romney refuses to show his past tax returns that he willingly showed McCain.
That is a great big RED FLAG folks.

EXCUSE ME....EXCUSE ME....
Did the Letter Writer and the usual Left-Wing Liberal commentors ever hear of Franklin Delano Roosevelt or Lyndon Baines Johnson or John Fitzgerald Kennedy = these three ....DEMOCRAT....Presidents who brought us Social Security, the Great Society and Camelot.
They were all worth about the same as Mitt Romney.
You know I could see running down Romney for a Bill Clinton but for someone as worthless as Barack Hussein Obama and his "ashamed to be an American wife" = GIVE ME A BREAK.

Barbara,
The partisan and demeaning attacks on Mitt Romney makes the attackers seem small, petty and desperate. You seem so jealous of someone else's success and hard work that you rationalize your point of view by saying it can only be accomplished by illegal means. Even though Romney pays his required taxes, you demand more. Even though the top 20% pays 70% of the federal income taxes, you demand more. While those you say are struggling to pay their bills are mostly likely part of the 47% that pay no federal income taxes.
Also, since you seem so informed about Congress, could you please tell us where the Senate budget is? Or where did all that stimulus money go?
Cerulean posted at 9:32 pm on Fri, Sep 7, 2012.
Yes. When the country was on the brink of default, Mitch McConnell, the senate Republican leader said, “The single most important thing we want to achieve is for President Obama to be a one-term president.”
Yes. President Obama tried to negotiate a 4 trillion dollar deficit reduction plan with Rep. Boehner, but the most important thing the Republicans wanted to achieve was – absolutely nothing.
Yes Barbara, it could very well be that Republicans hope to destroy the American economy so they can win the next election.
