Paul is a Libertarian. not a Republican. At best he is an insurgent in the Republican cartel. He could easily be a game changer, like George Wallace, but that will be the best he can do. The Democrats, with Obamacare, became extremists, Paul is the opposite side of the scale. The rest of the GOP is just trying to go with the flow, the sad fact is that will leave me with no choice for President, just two snooks who shouldn't be allowed to be the dog catcher. Paul is the only 'other' choice, and sadly, come this time next year, not enough people will have made it that business as usual won't once again reign supreme.

Rich, who would you like to see in the WH?

Probably Karl Jaspers. Of modern 'approved' philosophers he comes closest. We live in a rapidly expanding universe, we are simply ourselves, and we need to be that before we expand into millions of corners in our granddaughters smiles, billions and trillions of things, we have to be to be us, to have that freedom. Because we don't know anything we need to know ourselves, We need system that allows that to try to. We haven't got it yet. But a few of us try. Mostly that is painting and poetry, but it takes years of working to allow that much freedom. I guess it should be easier. And if I think anyone will make it easier, that's how I will vote.

While I agree with both Rich [on his frustrations over politicians but not on Jasper] and agree with Floyd and Mary Beth about the efforts GOP insiders are undertaking in marginalizing Ron Paul, I see marginalizing Ron Paul as not much of a risk. Ron is going to cave in at the convention and back Romney, this because he will not risk harming Rand Paul's future political career. Rand is the Paul to keep our eyes focused on. We can expect Rand to run for national office, all in due time.
Shortly we are going to see the marginal candidates, Huntsman, Perry, Santorum, even Gingrich, fall in line behind Romney, if not after S. Carolina, surely after Florida. Ron Paul will be the hold out and his popularity will climb but not eclipse Romney's. Just what consessions Ron will demand to endorse Romney remains to be seen. But there will be no third party candidate named Ron Paul this year!
