How to stop political robo calls: Vote for the opponent. My home has been invaded by an avalanche of automated calls asking for my vote for a variety of political candidates. I am on the national “Do Not Call” list (unbelievably, political calls are exempt from this law), pay for an unlisted phone number, and only use this phone for family emergencies (so I cannot shut it off).

I now listen to these unwanted calls long enough to jot down the name of the candidate that they are promoting, and then make sure to vote for their opponent in the election.

    Voting out of anger? Scary.

If you do that you would be giving up your right to vote because ALL the politicans use robocalls.

I get fewer of them since I registered as Independent, though.

The usually focus of people with a political affiliation trying to get their base to vote.

Masterrouge--anger has nothing to do with it. Allowing your campaign to use robo calls demonstrates poor judgement (it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out that these calls are unwanted and intrusive). I try not to elect people with poor judgement.

Fair enough. I'm like AZ Willie, a GDI. If it's a number I don't recognize, I let the machine answer it.

What do you do if both candidates call you?

"(unbelievably, political calls are exempt from this law),"
What's worse yet is the childish, selfserving law passed by the mental migets (Republican goons) in our stsae legislature that exempts their ugly political signs from following municipal sign codes regarding distance from the street and placement of those dicgusting signs on city property.
Just proves that they think they are above the law.
